Ghana striker Mahatma Otoo underwent further scans to his injured thigh on Thursday to determine the real extent of damage and the period required for his return.

The 23-year-old had to be replaced in the Black Stars squad ahead of friendlies against Senegal and Mali by David Accam after picking up an injury while in action for his Norwegian club Sogndal.

Initial tests conducted proved the former Hearts of Oak captain has not suffered severe damages.

Further tests is however required to give more certainty on the type of treatment to be applied and also to determine the period required for his return.

Otoo was put through a machine to undergo thorough test on his injury.

Results of the detailed medical examination remains concealed but the Ghana striker is thought to be out of danger.

Otoo was hoping to secure some precious game time in the friendlies against Senegal and Mali before injury struck.

He is now concentrating on a quick recovery in order to resume club duties at Sogndal.
