Ghana striker Jordan Ayew says he wants to return to Marseille when his loan spell at Sochaux expires at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old is delighted to have revived his club and international career at Sochaux thanks to coach Herve Renard who has acquired him on a six-month deal.

Ayew, whose contract with at Marseille ends in June 2015, believes he has become an improved player since leaving the Stade Velodrome this winter.

The son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele claims he was unhappy at Marseille where he was down the pecking order.

"The most important thing was to play regularly,” Ayew told beIN Sports .

“To qualify for a place at the World Cup, I decided to pack my bags and join Sochaux. But the story with Marseille is not over, I do not want to leave this club without leaving a footprint. Leaders know.

"On the pitch, I give 200%. I made ??a lot of effort in my behaviour, I'm on the right track. I better understand it now.

“In Marseille, I woke up in the morning and I do not necessarily have the motivation to train.

“Fortunately, there were people, like my brother, to support me. It was time to go to smile again. Here, I work two or three times because I feel good."
