Ghana striker Dominic Adiyiah has begun training with Swedish side Kalmar FF in a view of landing a contract, GHANASoccernet.com can reveal.

The 24-year-old joined the Swedish top-flight side on Friday after flying in from London as he seeks for playing time to see if he can gatecrash Ghana's squad to the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.

He is available on a free transfer after terminating his contract with Ukrainian side Arsenal Kyiv after the club went bankrupt last year.

The technical team will assess Adiyiah in the coming days to see if he merits a contract for the upcoming team Allsvenskan.

“Dominic is an offensive player who can play both forward and winger depending on the game system,” said Thomas Andersson Borstam, Kalmar FF sporting director.

“We will familiarize ourselves with each other and see how we get along with each other and then take it from there.”

Adiyiah is familiar with conditions in the Scandinavian region after playing for Norwegian side Frederikstad from 2008 to 2010.
