Ghana striker David Accam played his first game for Chicago Fire in their 2-1 defeat at SJ Earthquakes on Sunday.
The 24-year-old replaced Joevin Jones a minute into the second half but then the damage had already been done.
Fatai Alashe and Ty Harden scored in the 5th and 21st minute respectively to hand the hosts a commanding 2-0 lead which was halved eight minutes later through Harrison Shipp.
Accam was finally handed his belated debut at the restart to inject some purposeful pace to Fireââ¬â¢s attack but it wasnââ¬â¢t to be as the visitors slumped to their third straight defeat of the MLS season.
