Ghana striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom has expressed his delight at scoring for Atalanta on his first competitive start for the Serie A side.

The on-loan player scored the second goal for the Nerazzurri in their 2-1 win at Cagliari on Sunday.

Boakye picked up a ball and drilled a low grounder after Luca Cigarini had intercepted a ball in midfield.

"I'm happy with the goals scored. Cagliari is a good team. We won thanks to the strength of the team,” Boakye told the club’s official website.

"We are working to do things in the best way. To do what our coach tells us. Now we have to work to face Fiorentina."

Before the international break, he came off the bench in the 0-0 draw with Hellas Verona.
