Black Stars striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom scored his first goal of the season in Sassuolo’s 1-0 win over Ascoli in the Italian Serie B on Saturday.
The 19-year-old who is on a season long loan from giants Juventus crashed home the solitary goal of the game in the 33rd minute.
Ascoli were hoping to frustrate the leaders at their favourite Stadio Alberto Braglia but Boakye’s first half strike stunned the visitors and kept them in the danger zone.
Ghana U20 midfielder Yussif Raman Chibsah who is on loan from Parma was a workhorse in the middle for Sassuolo and lasted the entire duration of the game.
Sassuolo have accrued 19 points from their opening seven games and lead the table with three points better than second-placed Livorno.
