Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan believes his missing musician friend, Castro is alive despite days of unsuccessful search for his body following a boat accident in Ada over the weekend.

The award-winning hiplife artiste is feared to have drowned alongside a female friend - Jane Bandu - while holidaying with the  Black Stars captain at a resort in Ada.

Castro, known in private life as Theophilus Tagoe disappeared moments after picking up his lady friend on a jet-ski cruise on the Volta Lake.

The 'Odo Pa' hitmaker and his friend are yet to be found despite concerted search efforts by a combined team from Marine Police, The Navy, The Tema and Ada Police Command, Fishermen and even Traditionalists.

The unsuccessful search has fueled beliefs Castro and Jane Bandu have drowned under water and their mortal remains will only be returned to the banks of the lake in days to come.

But Asamoah Gyan who is a friend of Castro for over a decade now and have collaborated with him on hit songs in recent times believes his musician friend remains alive.

"The jetski on which Castro and Jane Bandu rode has been retrieved however, the two are yet to be found. We are keeping hope alive that the two will be eventually found," Gyan is still at the resort in Ada said in a statement signed by the Chief Executive Officer of his foundation, Samuel Anim Addo and released on the official website of the Al Ain ace, asamoahgyan3.com.

"Our prayers and support lie firmly with Castro and Miss Jane Bandu and their families.

"We pray for strength and fortitude for all engaged in the search. We also call on anyone who has information to assist in this quest."

Gyan had only returned from Ghana's failed bid at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The Al Ain ace however emerged from the tournament as the most scoring African in the history of the World Cup.

The trip to the resort in Ada was one of the measures employed by Gyan and his close family members and friends to relax.
