Paul Quaye hopes he gets more playing time for Espanyol this season
Ghanaian teenager Paul Quaye has targeted to impress in the upcoming Spanish La Liga season after being confirmed in Espanyol’s first team squad.
The 16-year-old made history by becoming the youngest African player to have featured in a La Liga game last season.
He came off the bench to play in Espanyol’s 5-1 drubbing of Rayo Vallecano.
The former Ghana Under-17 midfielder is expected to join Espanyol’s pre-season campaign on Tuesday ahead of the new season.
Quaye wants to build on his last season’s cameo with the first team.
“I had a good season last term. I scored 7 times from midfield for the team B and made one first team appearance,” he said.
“I was going to play against Real Madrid but paperwork delayed.
“I have set a target for myself this season that I must play more first team games in the coming season.”
