Ghana youth international defender Godfred Donsah made a return from injury to play full throttle for Cagliari in their 3-1 loss against AC Milan in the Italian Serie A on Saturday.

The 18-year-old suffered an ankle injury on March 1 and had to miss the loss against Sampdoria and the stalemate with Empoli.

But after recovering from the injury, new Cagliari boss Zdenek Zeman handed the Donsah a starting berth and he played full throttle for the struggling side.

Jeremy Menez scored the first goal for Milan but the visitors scored pecked the scoring through Diego Farias two minutes into the second-half.

But Milan produced a strong performance with French international Philip Mexes restoring the lead before Jeremy Menez scored his second goal of the night.

While Essien was coming off the bench to play for Milan in the win, his Ghanaian compatriot Sulley Muntari was an unused sub.
