Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari's return to AC Milan's squad was marred as fans staged another protest against the way the club is being run during Wednesday's 3-1 home defeat by Genoa.

Ghana's leading football news outlet www.ghanasoccernet.com exclusively revealed on Tuesday that the controversial midfielder will be in the squad after falling out with the authorities over the decision not to extend his contract.

He opted to stay away from the team but was recalled to help the injury-hit squad but the talented player was left on the bench as they suffered the shock defeat.

Supporters in the Curva Sud stand of the San Siro formed the word 'basta', which is Italian for "enough".

Rossoneri fans previously

boycotted March's 3-1 home win over Cagliari.

They are frustrated with a lack of clarity from owner Silvio Berlusconi over his future plans for the club, who lie 10th in Serie A.

AC Milan have won 18 Serie A titles and seven European Cups but finished eighth last season, failing to qualify for the Champions League - and are on course for a similar finish this term.

Wednesday's loss was Milan's 10th of the campaign and their second in a row following the 2-1 defeat by Udinese last Saturday.

Andrea Bertolacci and M'baye Niang gave Genoa a 2-0 lead before Philippe Mexes pulled back but Iago Falque's last-minute penalty sealed the points for the visitors.

The loss puts further pressure on manager Filippo Inzaghi amid reports Berlusconi is set to sell the club to Thai businessman Bee Taechaubol.
