Ghana star Sulley Muntari played alongside Argentine legend Diego Maradona in a game used to create awareness for global peace in the Interreligious Match for Peace staged Rome.

The AC Milan star was fielded alongside Maradona, Baggio, Del Piero, Lionel Messi, Figo and Ronaldinho in a game that ended 6-3 for a side led by Maradona.

The exhibition match was arranged at the behest of Pope Francis, himself an avid supporter of Argentine side San Lorenzo, to to promote a diplomatic solution to the ongoing crisis in Gaza.

With Muntari not involved in international action for Ghana, he was invited to take part in the games that featured top 50 former and present legends of football who played along with inter-religious leaders in the game.
