Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has asked Italy head coach Cesare Prandelli to include former AC Milan star Antonio Cassano in his squad for the 2o14 World Cup.
Cassano, who played along with Kevin Boateng during his spell at AC Milan, has been consistently overlooked for international duty by Prandelli but his recent form for Parma in the Serie A has forced the manager to reconsider his decisions on the forward.
Prandelli has admitted considering the forward for a place in his final squad and Boateng has backed calls for him to be included in the Azzuris squad along with legend Francesco Totti.
"If Cassano plays the Italian national team they can definitely finish in the top four. Antonio is having an incredible moment. I want to tell Prandelli to take him to Brazil. Totti in Brazil, why not? He is still strong, although now he is a bit 'old, but plays well," he said in an interview with Verissimo.
ItaItaly are considered as one of the hot favourites to triumph in Rio in June and Boateng believes they Azzuris would be true title contenders if they include his former AC Milan team-mate Antonio Cassano and Francesco Totti in their squad.
