Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng has described fellow countryman Sulley Muntari as “the best player he has ever met” despite the recent alleged misconduct of the AC Milan star.

Muntari has been heavily criticized by Ghanaian football enthusiasts after the 28-year-old was alleged to have engaged in a burst up with Black Stars management committee member, Moses Armah Parker.

The AC Milan ace is alleged to have launched an “unprovoked attack” on the Medeama owner during the World Cup in Brazil which eventually led to an indefinite suspension imposed on him by the Ghana FA.

Despite the various attacks launched on the former Inter Milan player after the unfortunate incident Boateng, who has been a long time friend of Muntari and has also played with him at both junior and senior levels in the national team, has showered praises on the AC Milan star.

“For me Sulley Muntari is the best player and best person I have ever met in my life, Boateng said.

I know people say a lot of bad things about him, but if you are close to this guy you will love him and you will do everything for him because he will do the same for you. Sulley is a guy who will always be there for you,” Derek affirmed.

“Normally in Africa when something is A, they want you to say B. But Sulley is not that kind of person. He will tell you the thing is A because is A.”

“And he will never say something bad about you. If you do any mistake, he will approach and tell you what you did was wrong. But people don’t get it”.

“He always gives to the poor and make sure people are happy. Sulley is the nicest guy I have ever met in my life. My entire football career. And I will always say that. Not because he is my friend. He is very respectful, but he doesn’t like people who are not honest”.

Derek was quick to add that there might be something wrong at the management level of the Black Stars which might have created problems for Sulley.

“Have you ever heard anything bad about him at club level? But anytime he comes to the Black Stars there is an issue. Meaning there is a problem at the Black Stars. Sulley is the nicest guy in the Black Stars team right now”.

After being given an indefinite suspension, Muntari is currently in Italy preparing ahead of the Pre-Season training with AC Milan.

He has been an integral member of the Black Stars for the past 10 years and has represented Ghana in all three World Cups,2006, 2010 and 2014.

  1. Tanko says:

UNPROVOKED! That’s what is making the FA’s case against Muntari irrelevant…. There is no such thing as UNPROVOKED attack. Even if an armed robber attacks another humanbeing, it should never be described as unprovoked attack. For one might have exposed their possession to the visibility of the said armed robber. Also there’s never smoke without fire been lit elsewhere that might have caused the smoke. The term UNPROVOKED should be ommited from the case against Muntari. It was wrong for Muntari to have hit Parker however, Parker might or even must have said something provocative against Muntari for him to act wrongly by hitting Armah first. Armah retaliated! Which was also wrong. Never supported violence and I don’t care where it’s coming from. Muntari was wrong and so was Armah Parker

  2. Boro says:

Is that so? He never had problems with the junior national teams but the BS, abe? He simply cannot do this in Europe because over there the axe will drop on him so badly that he won’t be able to recover for the rest of his career. Also the president of AC Milan will not kneel down and beg on your behalf like this hypocrite Nyantakyi. If he wanted to punish dishonest people then he should have punched the ‘sisimde’ Ankrah and the president who kept on postponding the date to pay their appearance fee but not innocent Armah who was simply trying to calm nerves. He is violent and it can only come from people who are engaged in excess marijuana (wee smoking). He now think he has money so he can do whatever forgeting that it was the state who has made him what he is today by providing the platform for him through the junior national teams. If you want to kiss his ass just go ahead and do that, ok. A person who can attack without provocation is simply insane. You are actually being dishonest yourself by trying to defend the indefensible. These current crop of players have received the best of treatment so far yet they have not been able as a team win even common SPOON yet what you hear is appearance fee this! Bonus that!. They are almost always thinking about money!money!money! May be we should have gone with the local BS afterall whether local or international is only three matches at the WC. Sulley we are simply tired of you!

    • OGYA says:

Boro, its a total waste of anyones time responding to your bunch of baloney. I hope you read what Tanko stated. Either you are blind or just pure naive to believe what those morons at the GFA are saying. Do you know how irritating Nyantakyi and his cronies can be? Just deal with dishonest individuals and you will feel exact same way Muntari Felt.

Its a breath of fresh air to have a former Black Star player come out and tell the truth. Where are all the Asamoah Gyans of the world, all are hiding with their tails in between their legs because of their selfishness and stupidity will keep their mouth shut if even the GFA is lying to the public. You mention the hammer will come down on him in Europe if he exhibited the same behavior there. Are you out of your wits end? Why will he do such a thing over there? Is there anyone in Europe delaying his paycheck? or trying to embezzle his money? You don’t make any sense so get lost. Ijust can’t stand dumb people.

    • Benny says:

Boro, you are makinh a heinous goof with AC Milan boss will not knell down to plead for Muntary.Money, money money really?
Mind you AC Milan will pay Muntary on time ,AC Milan will treat Muntary as an adult not those boffons who speak to the players as two year old.
Nyantakyi was the first to speak, why did Muntary not attack Nyantakyi but Armah who spoke second. You are only being judgemental.
Never compare things in Europe to Ghana ?
You said Muntary cannot do what he did in Europe really ?
The GFA cannot also do what they did to the players in Europe .
Nyantakyi in bussiness class with his family ,all the GFA entourage in bussiness class .
Nyantakyi in five star hotel and leaked room to KPB .
AA and Nyantakyi would have resigned in Brazil if what happened ever happened in Europe.
The Armah has any sense ,Nyantakyi is the president and there was no need to talk after him.
I am against all manner of attact on people, even on animals but let’s remember if you push too far, there is always a resistance .
      Judge not brother…………………..

  3. gyan says:

  4. Sean says:

Boro, do have something against Sulley? The people like you were saying if Derick was in the camp he would have disciplined Sulley, hear comes Derick, saying Sully is a nice guy he has ever know and play along side with, but he hate dishonesty. He has been with from Junior to Senior. Now you guys are coming again on Sulley, I personally don’t surport either, but I’m also a Ghanian living in USA. We all know this within the GFA, only player who will come out and speak the truth is an enemy to those involve and their relatives why? GSN go ahead delete this one also, but one day all of you will pay for it. God bless Ghana. Boro, No European clubs will do this, that’s we don’t hear such things over there and here. If GSN don’t delete our messages we would have given poblic all the truth why why why?

  5. Sean says:

Why do you GSN always delete my messages? Or you’ve been pay for?

  6. Ohene says:

I am for PEACE but when i bring out the hard TRUTH some of the forumites who hate the truth want to have WAR with me. Only time will tell!

  10. isquared says:

Although violence was not necessary and I condemn Sulley Muntari’s alleged actions, I fully support the BS players. Muntari and Essien have each done more for Ghana than all the current GFA and BS management committee combined. The two players as well as Asamoah Gyan, Dede Ayew, KPB should be our heros as their sweat and toil on the field of play is why Ghana is considered one of the best football teams in the world. If the players had a good coach and management, the BS could have made it to the semi-finals. Despite all the incredible distractions, bad player selection and tactics by coach Kwesi Appiah, with the exception of John Boye, Fatau Dauda and Daniel Opare, our players gave a good account of themselves in all three group stage games with Muntari our best overall player especially against Germany. Coach Appiah and the entire corrupt and enept GFA and BS management team must go and Sulley Muntari brought back to the BS team!!!

Though government had earlier confirmed it approved a US$9.6 million budget for the Black Stars participation in the 2014 World Cup, a leaked copy of the Ghana FA’s original budget records a total amount of US$14,792,821.2 with a detailed breakdown of the amounts according to the various stages of the Coppa Mundial.

The leaked copy of Ghana’s 2014 World Cup budget with the reference number WE 251/272/02 and dated May 14, 2014, was signed by the immediate past Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah and presented to the office of the Chief of Staff at the Flag Staff House.

Another sum of US$157,500 was requested for the payment of the accommodation and feeding costs for the officials for 14 days at US$750 per day. Also, just so you know, you can say sulley is axed but the truth remains, be isn’t interested in playing for a country that’s breeding corrupt leaders who can’t be bold to stand up for the truth. To us, he is a hero, and we wanna save our heros future, he can’t be wasting time romancing and patronizing corrupt heads all in the name of having “respect”
