The Black Stars have touched base in Liberia
By Patrick Akoto
The Black Stars have landed in Monrovia ahead of Tuesday’s friendly against Liberia.
Head coach Kwesi Appiah and his players touched base at the Liberia international airport ahead of tomorrow’s anticipated friendly.
The Ghana boss is expected to ring changes and give opportunity to players who failed to make the cut for the 2013 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Malawai on Saturday.
The likes of goalkeeper Fatawu Dauda, defenders Razak Nuhu and Rashid Sumaila as well as Richmond Boakye-Yiadom and Abdul Majeed Waris will get the chance to play against the Lone Star at the the SKD Sports Complex in Paynesville.
The match is being organized to foster the cordial relationship that exists between the two West African countries.
The winner of the tie will lift a giant trophy donated by President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
No more friendly games in soccer because it affects your Fifa Ranking as well. Liberia’s mission is to use Ghana to announce their presence in soccer.
Ghana should beat them very well, otherwise we are coming back with a lot of regrets – ask Nigeria.
The usual questions. What time is the game and where can it be watched….
There seems to be a soccer revival in Liberia and I would not be surprised if George Weah is not involved somehow.
