Ghana set to synchronise style of play of national teams, Black Stars coach Appiah to lecture

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) will hold its first coordinated course for all the coaches of the various national teams from Monday as they seek to implement an identical style of play for all the national team.

The training course, which will be held at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence, Prampram, some 60km east of the national capital, on May 5-7, is to start the process of implementing identical brands of football for all the national teams, the GFA said in a statement on Friday.

Black Stars World Cup coach James Kwesi Appiah will be among the resource persons for the three-day course which is meant to coordinate the country's style of play from the lower divisions.

"The course is aimed at developing a national training grid with identical philosophies, methodology and application, culminating in all our national teams playing an identical brand of football emanating from 'the Principles of Defensive and Attacking Play'," the statement explained.

It will also involve lectures and practical exercises, 'Systems' and tactics of the game, as well as practical coaching at the high level.

Lectures on Psychology and Progressive Loading in Systematic Training will also feature in the three-day program.

The head coach of the Black Stars, the senior national soccer team, as well other seasoned Ghanaian coaches and technical experts, will be in attendance.
