WAFA moved second on the table after a 1-0 win at the Tema Stadium on Saturday ended Inter Allies 14-match unbeaten home record.

It was the first away win for the Sogakope side this season after three defeats and three draws from their last six.

The Academicians were too slippery and tricky for their hosts on the artificial turf and made sure it counted on the scoreline.

Captain Martin Antwi blasted from inside the box in stoppage time of the first half to give WAFA the lead before the break.

Allies captain Joseph Aidoo failed to head out a corner-kick and the ball dropped to Charles Boateng who teed up his skipper to fire home- leaving goalkeeper Kwame Osei hapless.

The second half was fairly balanced but it was still the guests who looked comfortable and took advantage of Allies’ rut performance.

It is now back-to-back defeats for the Eleven Is To One who lost 2-0 at AshantiGold in their last league match.

Allies will drop further on the league table after Sunday’s round of matches.
