Ghana Premier League: Match Report - Medeama maintain fine home form in five-goal thriller win over Great Olympics

Published on: 11 February 2015

Medeama produced another impressive display at home to beat struggling Great Olympics 3-2 in a five goal-thriller on Wednesday.

The Mauve and Yellows had to come from behind twice to keep their home invincibility intact.

Doetse Agbashie grabbed a brace for the visitors while Bature Benjamin, Joseph Tetteh Zugah and Kwame Boahene scored for the Tarkwa-based side.

The visitors silenced the home crowd with a stunner opener through Doetse Agbashie in the 9th minute.

But their lead lasted only four minutes after Benjamin Bature squeezed in the equalizer before Joseph Tetteh Zugah increased the tally to 2-1.

However Olympics will not give up and pulled parity with Doetse Agbashie again getting the better off the Medeama goalkeeper.

But influential midfielder Kwame Boahene scored what proved to be the match-winner with a fabulous striker seven minutes to end the first half.

The two sides resumed the second department keen to bang in the goals but a well marshalled plan from both teams ensured the Mauve and Yellows picked the maximum points.

The win should serve as real boost to the side ahead of their next game at Bechem United on Sunday with Olympics hosting fellow strugglers BA United.
