Ghana will go into their quarter-final clash against Cape Verde in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations on a clean slate with their the yellow cards against seven of the players wiped.

Captain Asamoah Gyan , Rabiu Mohammed, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, Albert Adomah, Fatau Dauda and John Paintsil all had one yellow cards.

CAF rules state that one yellow cards will be wiped out at the end of the group phase.

This means cards picked up by players during the group phase have been cancelled ahead of the knockout phase.

This gives fresh opportunity to the Black Stars players, weighing up their psyche ahead of the quarter-final clash against the Blue Sharks on Saturday.

The Black Stars produced perhaps their best performance in this year’s tournament with a resounding 3-0 thrashing over the Menas at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium in Port Elizabeth.

Goals from captain Asamoah Gyan, Christian Atsu and John Boye propelled the West African giants to the heavy win.

We must not underestimate Cape Verde, they are the smallest country in Africa but they have achieved joyness and shockings not just to Cape Verdeans but all the world. Anyway Cape Verde has done a good job but though im Norwegian from Norway Supporting my parents country Ghana and i hope that they can win against Cape Verde and progress to the semis and also lift the cup on 10 february.

Ghana can do beat them. It won’t be easy but we can and we will.

  3. GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

GOOD GAME THUS FAR….GREAT POTENT STRIKE FROM GYAN, GREAT ASSIST, GREAT HEADER….VERY NICE BY GYAN
KEEP IT UP PLS. IF YPU CANT SCORE, SET UP OTHERS TO SCORE!
WHEN IT COMES TO AWOOF TEAMS, CALL ON GYAN TO PLAY BETTER…LOL
we have to play with intelligence. CRISP PASSING, THRU BALLS ETC
adomah is a poor player and not aN INTELLIGENT PLAYER AT ALL. MAKES VERY STUPID PASSING MISTAKES.
KASA, BADU, ATSU MUST ALL BE ABLE TO TAKE FREE KICKS AND CORNER KICKS.
aa,wat is the point of keeping your MVP PLAYERS LIKE BADU, VORSAH, KASA, GYAN STILL IN THIS GAME? ARE U CRAZY…
SUB THEM. U ARE 3 NIL UP. GIVE THEM TIME TO REST…..THIS IS COMMON SENSE….
    IS AA OKAY UPSTAIRS?
WE NEED THE PLAYERS TO BE MORE DISCIPLINED IN THEIR PLAY AND TACKLES. LESS FOULS, MORE SHOTS ON GOAL.
TIGHTEN UP THE DEFENCE….TIGHTEN UP THE DEFENCE…..TIGHTEN UP THE DEFENCE…..
AA MUST STRIVE FOR PERFECTION!. STRIVE FOR PERFECTION!

  5. Black Star Supporter says:

This GH FUO, THINK BIG person. I can see you are die hard fan who seems to love football and has knowledge about the game, or at least I think so.
However, who do you play for? What team do you coach? Has GFA come and asked you to be a coach of Black Stars??? Buddy, I think you should stop criticising so much the Black Stars & AA(Akwasi Appiah). If you knew all the answers and solutions, I am sure they would have employed you. Of course, I will agree there needs to be improvements but don’t think they are not striving for that & AA as well. You are criticising Albert Adomah are you serious right now???? I think very harsh. He is the only player who can put a across in from the right and reach target in the box in open play. In yesterday’s game, he setup up Gyan for the first goal and in 2nd half crossed with his left foot from the left side for Gyan who almost scored a volley. Keep in mind a right footer ooo, who can cross with both feet. Albert Adomah is a top player who can attack & defend. He is tactically and technically intelligent as he attacks and defends. His pace kraa is too much to handle! He reminds me of a typical winger and the wingers of English football. We havent had a winger who comes back so well to defend and is up attacking again. He has started every game & obviously the coach must think he has a top player on his hands! Also the coach gave him the no.10 Jersey and certifies his importance to the team. All our players in GH Team are very good players. Even Gyan’s by you and others criticism are harsh on yesterday’s game,he improved yesterday immensely even though he could have scored a hat-trick. He was involved in all the goals and yesterday you could see who was really the Captain yesterday rallying his troops and motivating in which you usually see Andre Ayew do.
Please keep supporting the Black Stars and your opinions are great, as it shows your passion and love for your country to excel in all things. But don’t overly exaggerate. I guess that is what you feel and the next person on the street would have a different perspective to you on Black Stars. God Bless & God Bless Black Stars
