Ghana’s opponents at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, DR Congo, have named a strong squad for next month’s tournament with several foreign-based players in the team.

The preliminary squad also includes players from local giants TP Mazembe who have helped the side to excel in the African Champions League.

Coach Claude Leroy’s initial squad also included uncapped Gabriel Zakuani, who also plays in the English Championship for Peterborough.

There is also a return for 31-year-old former captain Lomana LuaLua, who led the attack in the team’s last Nations Cup appearance in Egypt in 2006.

The selection also includes Parfait Mandanda, younger brother of fellow goalkeeper Steve, who was in the France squad at the Euro 2012 tournament.
