Kevin Prince Boateng does not want to play for Ghana
Ghana football authorities must ignore concerns over the country’s bruised ego and once again beg AC Milan star Kevin Prince Boateng to return to the Black Stars, says ace commentator Moses Foh Amoaning.
The veteran sportscaster made the appeal on Thursday, one day after Boateng played a key role for AC Milan to defeat giants Barcelona 2-0 in the Champions League with the midfielder scoring one of the goals.
Boateng retired from international football just over one year ago claiming he suffers injuries on his travels to Africa to play for Ghana.
The Germany-born star switched nationality before the 2010 World Cup to play for the Black Stars, catapulting him to international prominence and securing him the move to AC Milan.
His decision to retire prematurely angered many Ghanaian who accused him of using the country to raise his international profile that helped him to secure the big money move to the Italian giants.
In the wake of his resignation the Ghana Football Association twice sent emissaries including the federation’s presdient Kwesi Nyantakyi and coach Kwesi Appiah to convince him to return but Boateng stood his ground.
With the Black Stars performing below expectation at the recent Africa Cup of Nations tournament in South Africa and Boateng excelling in the match against Barcelona, Foh Amoaning says the GFA must ignore all concerns and beg the player to return.
“The Ghana Football Association must beg KP Boateng to play for Ghana again. Just look at his brilliant performance he exhibited during the AC Milan champions league match against the best club in the world, Barcelona,” Amoaning told Happy FM.
“The FA must ignore what others will say about his (KP Boateng) recalling into the squad.
“They (GFA) must stand on their authority because if we lose such a player, it will affect our team.
“When we recall Kevin-Prince Boateng into the squad and the team performs creditably in subsequent tournaments, the same people who did not like the idea of his recall will rejoice with the FA for the success.” he stated.
The Ghana Football Association has implied that retired Kevin-Prince Boateng will be re-admitted into the Black Stars if he is interested in playing for Ghana again.
Do you think Ghana should go and beg Kevin Prince Boateng again for him to return to the Black Stars? Do you agree with Amoaning? Make your views known in the box below
I dont remember the last time one player changes a team performance drastically, Kevin cannot be the only player to change the team and if he doesnt want to play for Gh why beg him again?? If his peformance against Barc is based on his goal then forget, it was hand ball we all saw.
One player CAN change a game either positive or negative, please be honest to yourself.
Take Messi out of Barcelona and see what happens, Ibrahimovic from PSG, Ronaldo from Real Madrid, Van Persie from Man Utd, Falcao from Ath Madrid. Eto from Cameroon, Abedi from Black Stars etc.
Negative: Asamoah Gyan alone broke the hearts of 25 million people at WC 2010.
c’mon man, he broke the hearts of all blacks/africans and that’s over 500 million people
Kwame I disagree with you one player can change the outcome of a game, the question of we begging him is misplaced. As Ghanaians we should ask ourself why our other West African brothers do not have problems bringing their children born in Europe to play for them?Nigeria,Ivory Coast,Senegal etc do no have such problems, the problem is us specifically the GFA.We should swallow our pride and beg them to come, with the local players I do not have hope in them bcos we don’t treat them well in terms of remunerations.
This is crap. KPB is a good but we cant keep crying over spilt milk. Beg him for what?
Sir, I beg to differ from your suggestion because, it doesn’t take one person to make a team. Begging Prince Boateng would set a very serious and negative example for the entire black team. We have equally good players who need just motivation to perform. Prince needs Ghana more than Ghana needs him to survive.
Really? we don’t have to, because the the team and the country in general is bigger than him. After all, we made him a favour, put him on our back to S/A W/C.He has already made up his mind, so please leave him alone. Only time will tell
Which country? beaten by Zambia, Liberia, Burkina Faso and Mali? My friend, we need our best players to qualify for the World Cup.
Do you want to watch the WC without Ghana?
I can tell words don’t come easily for Mr. Foh. Did he really say “beg” ?
Who said one player cannot the change a teams performance, if one groundnut can spoil a whole lot then ofcourse one player can change a performance of a team. I totally agree with you mr. Lets try beg to bring him back, bcos he is doing a lot for milan not only last night but always when he is on the field
The Team Might Be Bigger than him : But he is defo a player that could make a difference in any Given match so pls fellow Gh’s Pls stop being ignorant and let the GFA persuade him to return.
That is the problem with a black man, always proving stubborn because of our so-called tradition that makes difficult for an elderly to apologize to younger one. GFA should do the right thing for the sake of our image in the world of soccer. Again, we need a top class coach to handle our super stars.
I don’t believe we should go beg him to return. Doing so will be a bad example for Ghana and the future. I like what the GFA said about no Ghanaian player is excluded from playing for the country. If he feels he wants to play for the country and comes out to say he is available for selection, then the coach can call him. We should not dwell too much on one player. Why no one is talking about Muntari and the way the Milan team has looked since he returned from injury. I think he is a better player than we Ghanaians perceive him to be.
I have finally got the comfirmation of what fool this Foa Amoaning man is. Anytime he makes comments of national issues I feel like vormiting. I hear his wife abandoned him. I don’t think any sensible woman can put up with a dunce like this. He is so narrow minded and I wonder what kind of lawyer he is in the dock. How can any sensible man say a country should go and beg a player just because he scored in a match. I don’t think even primary school children would say this.
ell, well, well we live in a democratic country and should accommodate the opinions of others. have we descended to the level where we insult others because they made their opinions known? Kevin i believe should not be begged to play for Ghana. others will definitely rise to the occasion and make mother Ghana proud. for those who are insulting i tell you shame. what happened to tolerance. Shame Shame Shame. his wife left him so what. i bet your girlfriend left you some time ago. huh. grow up and stop insulting
I just had a confirmation of how idiotic a man like Foh Amoaning is. I hear his wife abandoned him. I don’t think any sensible woman can put up with a dunce like this. He exhumes narrow mindedness anytime he comments on national issues and I wonder what kind of lawyer he is in the dock. How can any sensible man say a country should go and beg a player. A player who from all indications misused and broke the country’s trust. The country had not offended the player in any way. After all that he has done to the nation, it should go to its knee and beg just because he scored a goal in a match? I don’t think even a
primary school child would say this.
well u rather portray urself to be narrow minded cos everybody is entitled, why do u have to attack his personality rather than the issue at stake. u see sometimes its best to know what caused his exit from black star and see if we can address it. cos we need to parade our best to make it to brazil pride goes b4 a fall
I sometimes don’t know what Ghanaians want our leaders to do. In two separate occasions, delegates were sent to talk to him and he said NO! So where lies these talks about begging someone?
are we discussing isssues or discussing personalities. who wouldn’t love to have Kevin in the Black Stars. are you comfortable with the way the current players are playing? if we should not beg him state that and no one will begrudge you but to insult? maaan you need some growing up. it is people like you mother Ghana needs to avoid. insulting on a national platform? shame on you
Chia Poor ghana imagine begging jst one player to kum bck, dat means u cant do witout him. Na 4 only ghana wil a player who is fit nd young wil jst kum out nd say he wont play again,4 9ja who send u
massa stfu cos the likes of odemwingi decided to quit playing for Naija…
the fact that your country won a cup recently shdnt make you so noisy.
maybe convince yes but beg is too much at the end of the day if u beg him can u discipline him.individuals dont win a thing
GFA and Akwasi Appiah knew why KPB retired, therefore let them go and beg.
KPB is not angry with Ghana but few individuals who pretend to know all about soccer but are not.
Who is this Amoaning guy? Does he have any gumptions? The problem with Ghana is we have too many wide mouths and empty barrels who talk before they think. Ghana should never ever beg this guy KPB to play for us. He is not the best at his position. What is it with us that once a player scores a goal, then all of a sudden that player is in form. Have you guys forgotten about Asamoah Gyan? the 20+ goal scorer in UAE who struggles to score just a goal in AFCON?
Ghana as country is bigger than one person, that doesn’t mean they cannot convince KPB to come and play but the word “BEG” should never ever be used in any sentence to convince this guy. My question to this wide mouth is, if even KPB decides to play for Ghana, who will be coaching him?
Oooh my Gward!, i just love to read from you. I am very sure all are thinking Kwasi Appiah will be enough to provide the necessary technical direction.
our coaches, technical staff and GFA chairman lack credibility and knowledge of modern football. Therefore, some player plying their trade abroad, find it difficult to fulfill their obligation of playing for the national team
Just shut up idiot!! What did those coaches before do??
call your mother to beg him you fucktard. why the f should we beg this good for nothing mercenary/pimp? only the shameless and those who lack dignity will beg this guy to return. he should rather be the one begging ghanaians for forgiveness. we have better tallents than him and it is up to gfa and coach appiah to locate those tallents. it is simple as that.
ghana have survive all this time without kelvin and also without the big names like abedi, polo, gago after their retirement….bt ghana is still ghana………so how can u say a person cld be greater than his country….this is unfair judgement to the millions of heroics who hv sacrifice for the nation.what legacy will be left.when we break the foundations today……think again and u want to say smth think again………
love mother Ghana
my big brother u have spoken very well and am happy and proud of your comments, with or without any of these players ghana will still be ghana, bless u soo muh
we realy need a player like prince boaten, this is about our nation ghana we are among the strongers team in the world befor but nw is just a name pls GFAmust talking prince againg we realy need him one life can save thousend of lifes so let do this ghana,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Whether we like it not, Kelvin is by far the best Ghanaian player we have at the moment who has proven to be the backbone for AC.
if I was the coach I would do anything to get Kelvin into the team. Yes anything . . .
because he is the one who will create the spark in our midfield
Kevin may be a good player but I honestly cannot say that he is going to change the Black Stars. At the end of the day, we need a real dangerous striker up front. If the player is not a real true striker then they are not going to change much. If we were talking about C.J. Sapong from the U.S.A./MLS I might be excited. However, Kevin is another midfielder who is going to score once in a while. We need to let our new players develop instead of taking rash actions.
jux look at u people! entsi gh paa ni? go n beg kpb to play for gh? he didnt play anytn better in dat match n moreover it was d foul goal he scored dat salvaged him but mind dis guy’s form is inconsistent n blv me we wil never beg him 2day or 2moro.
They tried many times 4 him to come back but the guy thinks he’s above anyone else.we all knows he want to be part of a world cup team so the fa should let him come begging now.the guy is Gud don’t get me wrong, but our black stars doesn’t evolves around him.
ooooooooooooo!!! ghana!!! and they’re all learned men!!hmmmmm!!! beg!!!!
we have enough players and that we can train them and they will be better than kevin.
We have no dignity, atall. You know as childish as it may seem…sometyms a man’s pride is all he’s got…………. I mean we were all here when the guy said Ghana was a ridiculously dangerous and was filthy place (i agree with the filthy part). He doesn’t want to come people. You allow one man to smear ur name in mud and some of u actually have enough shame to say we shud beg him. Disgusting the lot of u, pathetic even.
We should rather beg Nyantekyi and kwasi Appiah to resign they don’t know anything.
Africans, we have no dignity, always beggig others when things to make it easier. No one should beg KPB back, the team is not the issue we have enough quality it’s the tactics and player selection.
Kwadwo Asmoah has been rated in the Italian team of the season so far, but cannot produce for BS, because we do not utilise him correctly. We have players and enough decent young ones to do well.
Only a few months back, the Milan fans were on KPB’s back for poor performances since he got the number 10 shirt. Now because he has played well against Barca people are chasing him…nonsense.
This mentality will lead to the ego and divisive team attitude of the 90s.
Lets focus on choosing the correct players and building a TEAM. As I said before it’s the tactics and mentality of the coach….look at Madrid, struggling this season but good last or Man Utd, everyone says the team is inferior to past Utd teams but is still winning….the team and tactics make the difference not the coach.
meant team and tactics NOT individual player. Look at Messi’s performance against Milan
I AM A NIGERIAN, YOU WILL SAY WHAT CONCERNS ME WITH GHANA FOOTBALL, BUT AS WEST AFRICAN BROTHERS , I AM NOT HAPPY WITH EVENTS UNFOLDING AT BLACK STARS OF GHANA, I DISAGREE WITH THE FACT THAT KPB SHOULD BE BEGGED TO RETURN ! HE HAS RAPED THE COUNTRY BY USING GHANA TO APPEAR ON THE BIG STAGE AT THEWORLD CUP, GHANA DOES NOT OWE HIM AN APOLOGY BUT HE OWES THE NATION AN APOLOPGY THERE ARE GREAT TALENTS HIDDEN IN THAT NATION WHAT YOU NEED IS TO FISH THEM OUT FROM YOUR LOCAL LEAGUE AND MIX THEM WITH EXPERIENCED PLAYErs. LIKE ESSIEN, DEDE AYEW AND CO
THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT FOR GHANA ONLY LITTLE ADJUSTMENT HERE AND THERE
tks wise one!
hahaha..ooh Ghana ooh blackman! why should we “BEG” a player who soiled a face with a nation that made him who he is now, hurled an unprecedented insult that goes like this “its even dangerous to walk on the street of Ghana” to readmitted in the team back again…the statement of this man has already gathered all credible evidence that we black people DONT think ahead…he is a lawyer but deviated from credibility of being one..we dont BEG a player into a team just because he has scored a goal in a match, nonsense!!
So mr.lawyer let me straghten your sentence for you “we should try & convince KPB back to our team again” Shallow minded of some people in this country including this mr. lawyer
FOOLISH. WHAT DE FUCK DO YOU MEAN THAT MONKEY CAN WIN THE CUP. OFRI DZATO LIKE YOU GO AND LOOK FOR YOUR DAD AND TURN INTO AN ENGLISH SEAMAN
Fo Amoaning should go to Italy and try begging that Nazi Airbag and he would chased by his dogs
there is no thought the guy is a gud player but i think people who are close to the young man should advice him to apologize to Ghanians for the wrong decision he made not to ply again for Ghana bcos he has a lot to offer to the Ghana black stars
well, well, well we live in a democratic country and should accommodate the opinions of others. have we descended to the level where we insult others because they made their opinions known? Kevin i believe should not be begged to play for Ghana. others will definitely rise to the occasion and make mother Ghana proud. for those who are insulting i tell you shame. what happened to tolerance. Shame Shame Shame
Ghana as a country is bigger than a person,so if he like he should play if he like he shouldn’t.
