Ghana’s Sulley Muntari came off the substitute bench to help AC Milan fight from behind to avoid a disgraceful defeat at Bologna in the Italian Serie A on Wednesday.
After the first half had finished 1-1, Laxalt completed his double after the break while Cristaldo gifted the hosts a 3-1 lead but a Milan boss Allegri introduced the Ghana international who came to alter the game in the Rossoneris’ favour.
Milan had come off a 2-1 home reverse to Napoli during the weekend and were hoping to get back to their winning form but were harassed by the host at the Dall’Ara stadium.
With just 16 minutes left for play, Allegri brought on the 29-year-old to replace Antonio Nocerino and his introduction proved crucial as he helped keep the pressure on the Bologna as Milan equalised both goals in the last minute of the game with Abate and Robinho scoring.
Muntari’s has been in fine shape for Milan.
