Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso is expected to join Russian side Rubin Kazan in the coming 24 hours, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
The 23-year-old is set to seal his preferred move to the Russian club after raising serious concerns over his tiny wage at Espanyol.
Wakaso is one of the least paid players in the Spanish top flight and even a proposed marginal wage increment by the White and Blues appear not enough to keep the Ghanaian.
The player’s move to Rubin Kazan will be made official by Tuesday barring any last minute hitches.
Espanyol will recieve 6m Euros for the Black Stars midfielder who excelled at the 2013 Nations Cup earlier this year in South Africa.
The Spanish club are already plotting ways to spend Wakaso’s transfer cash with lined up deals to fill the void to be created by the departure of the ex Villarreal man.
