Kwadwo Asamoah and his team-mates celebrate their equaliser at the Stamford Bridge

Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah showed his top-class status as he was among the players who excelled when they held Chelsea to a 2-2 draw in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Ghana international got high marks as Chelsea blew a two-goal lead as their defence of the Champions League title got off to a breathless start.

Oscar looked set to enjoy a dream European debut with a stunning first-half double but the Italian champions ruthlessly exposed the holders’ defensive deficiencies to snatch a draw.

Arturo Vidal pulled a goal back before the break and, after Eden Hazard was denied what appeared a penalty, Fabio Quagliarella came off the bench to equalise and was a lick of paint from completing a sensational turnaround.

That would have been cruel on Chelsea but – as in their Uefa Super Cup thrashing by Atletico Madrid – they left themselves exposed enough to make such an outcome possible.

Asamoah was rated among the best players on the night at Stamford Bridge as he got 7/10 for his efforts for the Italian giants.

    STOP LYING!

im watching the game and asamoah dey bore me fuicking. ah, wetin this. he is playin on the LEFT. ME MAKE TIBOOR FOR THE LEFT. NO PRESSURE. HE NEEDS TO FORCE THE ISSUE. HE EVEN GOT A BALL CLOSE TO THE CHELSEA 18. INSTEAD OF DRIVING THE BALL INTO THE BOX AND TRYING TO INITIATE A PENALTY OR EVEN DRIBBLE THE CHELSEA DEFENDER, ASAMOAH JUST CROSSED THE BALL TO THE LEFT. AABA, HW3, IF HE CONTINUES TO PLAY LIKE THIS, HE WILL BE RELEGATED TO THE BENCH. AH, U ARE A BLACKGUY ON THIS JUVE TEAM N U ARE PLAYING TIBOOR NA SO, WHY? THIS GUY NEEDS TO GET A PSYCHOLOGIST LIKE MYSELF TO MENTOR HIM BCOS I DEY FEAR GIVE AM. THE ENTIRE JUVE PLAYERS ALL MAKE APPREHENSIVE FOR THE GAME INSIDE. JUVE HAS WHAT IT TAKES TO BEAT CHELSEA, BUT THEY ARE TOO CONSERVATIVE, TOO APPREHENSIVE, TOO TIGHT. AH, HOW DO U ALLOW OSCAR, THIS TWETWEPUA PLAYER TO SHOOT N SCORE 2WICE? I BORE FUCKKING. ESP WITH ASAMOAH. AA SHOULD STOP CALLING ASAMOAH TO GBSTAR WE HAVE BETTER , HUNGRY PLAYERS LIKE ABEYIE, WAKASSO, YARTEY, EVEN ODURO OF MLS WHO ARE ALL READY TO PLAY HARD N INITIATE ACTION. ASAMOAH IS NOT PLAYING AGGRESSIVE AT ALL, MASTER BALL NKOAA….INITIATE THE ACTION!

  2. GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

haD THE JUVE PLAYER NOT SCORED THE SECOND GOAL, JUVE WOULD BE GOING HOME AS THE LOSER. KWASIA BA, DID U WATCH THE GAME? ASAMOAH STARTED ON THE LEFT BUT NEVER MADE ANY INROADS AT ALL THROUGHOUT THE GAME. I UNDERSTAND THEY WERE PLAYING TACTICAL N DEFENSIVE, BUT HOW LONG WILL U PLAY TACTICAL N DEFENSIVE WHEN U ARE DOWN 2 GOALS. ASAMOAH IS A GIFTED PLAYER, BUT I SWEAR HE HAS PSYCHOLOGICAL ISSUES. I WANT HIS NUMBER OR EMAIL SO I CAN CORRESPOND WITH THIS GUY. AFTER IM DONE WITH HIM, HE WILL BE BETTER THAN MESSI, TRUST ME.
LETS BE FRANK. ASAMOAH MADE 2 MISTAKES IN THE GAME
MISTAKE 1: WHEN OSCAR GOT THE BALL FOR THE FIRST GOAL, INSTEAD OF ASAMOAH RUNING TOWARDS HIM, ASAMOAH BACKED UP INTO THE 18, AND THIS ALLOWED OSCAR TO SHOOT THE BALL WHICH RESULTED IN THE 1ST GOAL.
MISTAKE 2: ASAMOAH IN THE SECOND HALF GOT A BALL UP TOP THE 18 YARD BOX WITH 1 PLAYER TO BEAT. INSTEAD OF DRIVING THE BALL INTO THE 18 N TRYING TO TAKE ON THE CHELSEA DEFENDER OR DRIBBLE , HE CARELESSLY CROSSED THE BALL. I MEAN…WHY?

    • Nii Nii says:

Looks like you have a lot of issues. I need your number or email to correspond with you. After I am done with you, your life will be turned around. And you will know how to speak without insulting. Calling someone a fool because he made mistakes while playing a match for his club is quite bizarre. I find that extremely difficult to comprehend.

      • GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

NII, U SHOULDNT. ASAMOAH HAS APPEARED 43 TIMES FOR GHBSTAR AND SCORED 1 GOAL. Y3 NUA NE S3N? MY GRANNY ON CRUTCHES WILL PLAY AS AN ATTACKING MIDFIELDER FOR GBSTAR N WILL NEED LESS THAT 40 APPEARANCES TO SCORE 10 GOALS. IS THIS NOT GROUNDS FOR CALLING ASAMAOH FOOLISH? DID U EVEN WATCH THE GAME?I DONT THINK U DID..HAD ASAMOAH BEEN A LIL AGGRESSIVE, JUVENTUS COULD HAVE POSSIBLY WON THE GAME, TRUST ME. NII, READ MY POSTS ON HERE. WHERE DID I CALL ASAMOAH A FOOL? ALL I SAID WAS HE WAS TIBOOR N NOT AGGRESSIVE. HE NEEDS TO INITIATE THE ATTACK SO MUCH MORE THAN HE DID.

  3. no trolls says:

    Can you stop trolling here.

  4. carruthersman says:

Infact I like K. Asamoah, he skillful and talented player, but I believe he can do better than what he is doing.
I watched the game and I wasn’t impress about his performance.
I think he is weak and a lazy player, so to improve, he should work on his toughness and aggresiveness.
Always remember that hard work will always beat talent.

    • John says:

MY FELLOW BROTHERS AND SISTERS PLEASE LETS GIVE HIM SOMETIME THIS IS HIS FIRST CHAMPIONS LEAGUE MATCH WITH JUVE HE WILL IMPROVE. HE IS NOW PSYCHED UP WELL FOR THE NEXT MATCH AND WILL PLAY BETTER MARK MY WORDS

  5. Kobi says:

People should stop making silly generalisations. He may not be the best but he has had a good start with Juventus, scoring two goals and having a couple of assists. He will improve, as he needs to step up more and dominate (to become a player that is world class level) but he is moving there and being at Juventus is going to help him.

Personally I think he needs to step up A LOTand he needs to also step up when playing for Ghana.

    • cofie says:

i don’t understand you guys. the big match analyzers gave him 7/10 and you guys say he under perform. he is simply playing to instruction!!

      • Kobi says:

Hold on, calm down. All I have said is that he needs to step it up, which he does. He is good, but not at the level of world class…yet, as he needs to be more dominant (like Essien was and Yaya Toure is), this is not just based on his performance against Chelsea but how he he has peformed in the last few years and especially for Ghana.

I am against people insulting him or calling him weak or lazy he is not, but he does need to step up to the next level if he is to be world class. You can disagree if you want, but that’s my opinion.

      • GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

COFIE, U AMUSE ME….THE BIG MATCH ANALYZERS? DONT U HAVE A BRAIN AND 2 EYES TO JUDGE FOR YOURSELF? I GIVE ASMAOAH A 5OVER 10. JUST BECOS THE REVIEWER GIVES A FILM FIVE OUT OF FIVE DOSENT MEAN I SHOULD LOVE IT…IN MY CASE, I GAVE REASONS WHY I GAVE ASAMOAH 5 OUT OF 10.

  6. kuuku philly says:

Let’s keep it friendly guys…..he needs 2 bump it up a notch in order to keep his place..

  7. Randy says:

None of us belong to Juventus technical team, so why condemn the player?. He played 90 minutes, it means he was doing exactly what he was told to do. Please we should exercise caution of criticisms and condemnation.

  8. He-goat says:

Sometimes we watch a match but cannot fully comprehend what a team or an individual is playing.
We have what we call tactics and techniques in football that is why a coach is employed for a team. If not you just ask 11 players to go on the field and play whatevet they like. You may not know the specific role given to K. Asamoah by his coach. One may think he is playing nonsense but that is why his coach has asked him to play due to the opposition they have. PLEASE OPEN YOUR EYES WHEN WATCHING FOOTBALL.

  9. Henry says:

Stop insulting hin becos he is de best.
