Ghana midfielder Bernard Yao Kumordzi played in an exhibition game for Belgian giants KRC Genk on Monday night, to signal his return to full fitness, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 27-year-old has been out for a month since he underwent a jaw surgery and only returned to the pitch during an exhibition game against Sporting Hasselt.

The Ghanaian international has missed the start of the Belgian Pro-League due to the set-back but his return will serve as real boost to the side.

Kumordzi was once again the steal in midfield with his ability to win ball easily and brought some stability to the Genk midfield.

"I was a little surprised that it went so well, “he said

"I have a decent condition, but after such a long absence, it was not easy.

“I have find my rhythm and ready for the season which has started already without me.

"I'm not worried about our bad start. "We shall bounce back and made a great impact this season.

“There is no European competition to worry about and so we’ll have time to concentrate on the league.”
