Ghana midfielder Afriyie Acquah claims Parma are ready to hand him an extension following his impressive displays this season.

The 22-year-old has been one of the most talked of young players in the Italian top flight this term due to his consistent displays for the Gialloblu.

Acquah suffered a massive hit to his reputation as one of the rising stars in world football when he joined German club TSG Hoffenheim in last year’s winter transfer period.

The Black Stars player has since repaired his battered reputation since his return to Italy.

The former Palermo man now says he has to weight up his options with an offer of extension from Parma readily on the table.

“Parma are ready to hand me an extension – whether it will be a loan or permanent agreement,” Acquah told Sunyani-based Ark FM.

“But then I am substantively a player of Hoffenheim so they have the bigger say.

“You will recall that I sustained an injury when I first joined Hoffenheim and didn’t get play time when I recovered.

“Then when I returned to Parma, I got the needed playing time of which Hoffenheim are taking notice of.

“I am in a very good place at Parma now so I will have to decide whether to stay here, go back to Hoffenheim or even join a different team.”

Acquah has played 22 games for Parma and has scored just once this season.
