Ghana made history by becoming the first nation to score at the ongoing African Cup of Nations holding in South Africa, matches played on Saturday 20th January all ended in goalless draws.

Despite registering its name in the AFCON 2013 annals, Ghana squandered a two goal lead to end the match in a stalemate.

The Black Stars drew the first blood from their opponent, the Democratic Republic of Congo, when Emmanuel Agyemang Badu slid home a Kwadwo Asamoah’s pass.

Skipper Asamoah Gyan made it two for the West African nation when he headed in the ball at the far post.

But the boys from Central Africa responded quickly with Tresor Mputu poking in the ball from inside the box.

DRC scored from the spot to make it two after Ghana’s Jerry Akaminkho dragged down Mbokani, who made the penalty look easy as he effortlessly slotted the ball into the corner, with the keeper diving the wrong way.

With many missed chances both teams deserved to win the thrilling encounter which didn’t go either way.

Meanwhile, in a second Group B match played also at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth, Mali became the first team to break the draw jinx, as they recorded the first win of the tournament.

A late goal scored by Captain Seydou Keita, six minutes from time ensured that the Malians earned maximum three points at the expense of Niger .

The game lacked panache, but with the Malians having better ball possession, they probably deserved to win.

    COACHING TACTICS!
GYAN DOES NOT DESERVE TO BE CAPTAIN. GIVE THE CAPTAIN SHIP TO BADU! NYANTAKYI, WHY DO WE HAVE SMALL LETTERED NAMES ON OUR JERSEYS? TELL US WHY? ARE U FOOLISH OR BLIND?

if the players were doing wat i have been telling them to do like lifting metal. they would be faster, stronger and would have less
CATASTROPHIC INJURIES. SO FAR LOOK AT THE STRENGTH OF THE PLAYERS WHO ARE CURRENTLY INJURED IN CAMP..VORSAH, YIADOM, ANNAN..
    THEY ALL DONT LIFT WEIGHTS!
THE SCIENCE IS THERE TO SUPPORT WAT IM SUGGESTING, BUT WILL AFUOM COACH AA ADVISE THESE GUYS TO DO LIFT METAL SO THEY WONT BE
SUCEPTIBLE TO CATASTROPHIC INJURIES? NO….IF YOU ARE A PHYSICALLY FIT PLAYER. THE CHANCES OF YOU GETTING INJURED IS LESS.
YOU ALSO RECUPERATE FASTER FROM YOUR INJURIES AS WELL…MAKAA AKAAA AKAAAA..PPL EVEN INSULT ME ON GHWEB N GHSOCCERNET BCOS THEY
DONT UNDERSTAND MY POINT OF VIEW.
HW3, WHEN U LOOK AT BARCELONA. EACH PLAYER ON THE TEAM PLAYS BREAK AND PASS SOCCER. ONLY XABI AND MESSI DRIBBLE OR HOLD UNTO THE BALL.
EACH PLAYER PLAYS SIMPLE. BREAK AND PASS..2 TOUCHES, 3 AT MOST. THEY MOVE THE BALL BY PLAYING 2 TOUCH. NO PLAYER STANDS IDLE.
ALL THE PLAYERS R CONSTANTLY MOVIN AS THE PLAYERS MOVE THE BALL IN A TRIANGULAR FASHION WITH THEIR BREAK AND PASS STYLE. ITS ALL MECHANICS.
BARCELONA WILL NEVER OVERLAP A BALL FROM 7 TO 11..NEVER…
THEY DO 3 THINGS AT THE SAME TIME: PLAYERS R CONSTANTLY MOVING, PLAYING 2 TOUCHES, MOVING THE BALL IN A TRIANGULAR FASHION.
THIS MAKES THEIR OPPONENTS VERY FRUSTRATED, TIRED AND CHASING AFTER THE BALL. BEFORE THEIR OPPONENTS ARE AWARE,
MESSI HAS THE BALL AND IS ALREADY IN THE 18 YARD BOX. IF YOU ARE A DEFENDER AND ARE NOT SMART..BOOM! PENALTY OR MESSI WILL SCORE..SIMPLE!
I DONT HAVE ANY COACHING BADGES OR CERTIFICATES, BUT I WATCH BARCELONA AND THIS IS SIMPLY WHAT THEY DO. COMMON SENSE BALLIN!
MAN U, CHELSEA, REAL MADRID ARE ALL TRYING TO COPY BARCELONA’S STYLE OF PLAY, BUT THEY CANT PERFECT IT.
ITS FUNNY BECAUSE SPAIN PLAYS THE SAME STYLE, AND GUESS WHO BARCELONA AND SPAIN COPIED THIS STYLE FROM? GHANA!
THEY COPIED THIS STYLE FROM GHANA IN WCUP 2006. THE ONLY THING DIFFERENT FROM BARCELONA, SPAIN AND GH SQUAD 2006
IS STRIKING AND GOALS SCORING OPTIONS….WE NEED TO PLAY THE 532 FORMATION IN TOURNAMENTS.
YOU SEE, STRIKERS/attackers win you a match, BUT DEFENDERS win you tournamentS. AA CAN PLAY THE 4321, 442 ETC TO WIN SINGLE GAMES,
BUT IN A TOURNAMENT LIKE THIS. YOU ONLY HAVE A CHANCE IF YOUR DEFENDERS ARE ON POINT.
ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND PLAYING WITH A PROFESSIONAL MINDSET IS WAT WILL SET US APART FROM THESE OTHER NATIONS.
EVIDENTLY, WE CAN SEE THAT EVERYONE CAN PLAY THE GAME. HOWEVER, IF GBSTARS CAN
    1. SHOW ATTENTION TO DETAIL IN PLAYING THE GAME AS EVIDENCE BY THEIR TACTICS AND STRATEGIES
    2. PLAY THE GAME WITH A PROFESSIONAL MINDSET..THAT IS FOLLOWING MY COACHING TACTICS, LIFTIG WEIGHTS
    3. GBSTAR WILL CONTINUE TO DOMINATE OVER ALL COMPETITIORS!

  2. king says:

Gyan never scored!! pls check ur records

  3. GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

WAA LOOK AT THIS HORRIBLE JERSEY. NYANTAKYI WO Y3 KURASINI AKURA PPPAAPAPAA!
WHY DO WE HAVE SMALL LETTERED NAMES ON THE BACK, INSYEAD OF CAPITAL LETTERS?
WHY DO WE HAVE RED STAR, YELLOW STAR, GREEN STAR LIKE SOME RAINBOW SHIT. WE R CALLED THE GBSTARS. SO THE ONLY STARS ON THE JERSEYS SHOULD BE WAT COLOR NYANTAKYI?…..BLACK!

BADU MUST BE MADE THE CAPTAIN. GYAN N HIS FOOLISH HAIRSTYLE DOES NOT DESERVE IT. HE IS NOT DISCIPLINED. HE IS NOT SERIOUS AS A STRIKER…

  4. deadman says:

GH FUO u r spot on

  5. African Consciousness says:

King is right please publish the truth. Do not attribute Kwadwo Asamoah’s hard earned goal to Asamoah Gyan.

  6. kelly says:

GSN, who scored Ghana’s 2nd goal? Pls avoid this mistakes.
