Ghana football legend Abedi Pele met with Ivory Coast president Alassane Ouattara last Tuesday to discuss football not politics.

The three-time African Footballer of the Year was at the presidential palace in Abidjan on the invitation of the head of state.

Abedi Pele was a member of Ghana President John Mahama’s entourage to their West African neighbours last week.

“We talked about football, as he loves the sport. We also talked about Ghana and my two boys in Marseille,” Ayew Pele explained his visit.

“I do not do politics. I came as a friend of the Ivory Coast.

“We had time to see each other last week during my visit with President John Dramani he was happy to see me in the delegation.”

That’s great man but i ll advice u to stick to football alone because affilliating with any political groupings will destroy your legacy because politics in Ghana stinks a! It ll be better for u to rather be serious in caf politics as u can become a very important person in there! U have the popularity in most of these francophone countries and i know they admired u alot,so use that goodwill to build bridges and aim higher esp with the caf presidency.. u can do it if u put your mind to it!!! Viva the revolutioncion

    • maxob4 says:

well said onua, Abedi is totally missing the plot all together.Your strong hold is in football politics since your fans cut across both anglophone and the francophone dividein Africa. Your association with this dirty Ghanaian politics is however playing against you.Why doesn’t he work his way up CAF rather than killing his own legacy through association with Ghanaian politicians

  2. afrikaba1 says:

if you dont do politics then please stay away from politics

  3. Randolph says:

would you guys leave Abedi alone? Whatever he does people will find a way to condemn it?
Please leave the man to enjoy his life, LIFE IS TOO SHORT.

  4. Randy Abbey says:

John Mahama listen to Rawlings advice.Abedi is a pure NPP man and you are asking him to follow you to your own detriment.I know he is your firend and from the same region, but be careful, because Abedi is very dangerous. The bloke has no good education that is why Sepp blatter abandoned him.Abedi’s french is not the written type.
