Ghana heading towards World Cup failure - Ghana FA Ex.Co member Osei

Ghana FA Executive Committee member Wilfred Osei has prophesised doom for Ghana’s campaign at the 2014 World Cup even in the spiritual realm.

The Black Stars have been drawn in a tough group alongside Germany, Portugal and the USA.

Many soccer pundits have already predicted a first round exit for Ghana and the USA in favour of three time winners and perennial underachievers Portugal.

And the Tema Youth chief who is on the powerful 22-man Ghana FA Executive Committee tends to agree with this notion.

Osei – popularly referred to as ‘Palmer’ – even adds it doesn’t look good for Ghana even in the spiritual realm even though he believes things can be done to salvage the situation.

“From the herbal perspective, it doesn’t look good for Ghana as we speak today,” he told Metro FM.

“It depends on what we do from now.

“Analyzing it purely from the technical angle and not being a Ghanaian, I will also say that it is a very difficult task handed to us.

“Someone will say I am being too pessimistic, being a defeatist, don’t I have any hope for mother Ghana?

“I have hope and confidence for mother Ghana if only we have a game plan and the game plan should start from the FA.

“From the Executive Committee level, from the Presidency up to those of us at the floor level. Those of us referred to as the football people.

“We should accept the fact that the task is not easy so any kind of advice, any kind of information given to Akwasi Appiah should be seen in a positive light.”

Ghana aims at going at least one place better than the quarter final finish last term in South Africa in next year’s tournament in Brazil.

I will wait for that prof from the university of Winneba and see whassup for the spiritual realm. He is quite accurate. For once l have refused to believe spiritual forcastors after the Ghana Egypt game. We should not be discouraged but gingered by this kind of situations.

    • John says:

Why the insult the man is speaking his mind what is your problem? After all if we get out of the 2014 World Cup in the 1st round,John Mahama or any Wayome will not pop out to fly those rowdy awam football supporters to Brazil.

      • iantwii says:

H is definitely a KWASEA MAN. Pop Man is dead right. This Kwasea man is just advocating for a foreign technical director to be imposed on AA, and because that is not being considered that’s why he is talking rot like that. Idiot. He should be fired.

  4. Fabs says:

It’s all about preparation and not the likes of Osei causing confusion. We are not stupid, we know the games that the likes of Osei are planning, trying to influence/manipulate to get some leverage with the FA….NONSENSE!

If GFA doesn’t prepare well then of course Ghana will struggle and they and Appiah will need to account for this, but this will be due to lack of preparation and foresight and NOT because the “spirit” world or hungry people like Osei says so.

  5. Paul says:

This is football, is a matter of hardwork and determination. Anything can happen. Ghana and USA can qualify at the expence of the so called Germany and Portugal that people are scared of. This group will rather help our team to prepare well with determination to qualify from the group. Im happy the players themselves know the task ahead so i believe they will rise up to the occasion. God bless our homeland Ghana.

  6. Boro says:

Anybody at all say any nonsense and is published. I try to find out what actually his criticisms are and found nothing. What a waste of time and space. You better shut up because ur iq is too low for this platform.

  7. Benny Boy says:

I believe it is very possible for us to make it to the next round. Our chances are as high as the other teams in the group. If we prepare very well and AA gets his selections right, not even Germany can touch us. African players are very much underrated because if Gyan was an English man, the praises he was going to amass was going to stun people. Having said that, AA has done well to bring us this far however, he needs a lot of help on the technical bench to steer the team forward. It doesn’t have to be foreign personnel, there in Ghana we can find good coaches that can sit on that bench to help in analysis and designing game plans that can be executed to bring about victories for Ghana. We have some of the best players and with a good game plan, we will be very hard to beat. I guess this is what Osei was alluding to and couldn’t articulate very well. We can easily beat the likes of Portugal that is a one man’s team and even Germany if the boys are willing. The team to fear in this group in my humble opinion is USA but we will beat them again to progress. The USA team has the potential to upset some teams in this group and that could be good for us.

  8. Kofi(Atlanta) says:

This man is so controversial I for one don’t understand why he still a member of FA. As a member one should should only be optimistic in public even if the going get touch. He is a traitor when it comes to the Black Stars

  9. texas says:

It is because of some of these so called “Ghana FA Executive Committee members” like Wilfred Osei that Ghana League is as it is now. What is he talking about? Who told Wilfred Osei that our players and technical team are afraid of any team? has this Wilfred Osei been listening to our players and coach since the draw? does Wilfred Osei even know that Ghana is going to the world cup for the third straight time? is he writing off our players? people like Wilfred Osei should be no where near the Ghana FA Executive Committee….

  10. Kaylee says:

Hahahahaha Ghana and their juju mentality. Btw, we needn’t no juju to tell us that Ghana is out b4 we believe. Germany and Portugal for d round of 16 while Ghana and the U.S exit the group stage. Up 9ja!!

  11. CEREBRAL says:

How can you put on a committee of such calibre a man who speaks like this
“From the herbal perspective, it doesn’t look good for Ghana as we speak today,”

Does he mean the players have to take herbs to win their matches in the WC?
Herbs are plants used for flavoring, medicine, food and perfume.

Whiles European and South American teams are incorporating science , technology, infrastructure, performance statistics, management expertise, and belief in self-edowment, we are talking about superstition. If superstition works, African teams should have won all their WC games from the time they started competing.

  12. NANA YAW says:

    Viper, hahahahaha.
