Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda made his full competitive debut for Orlando Pirates in their 1-0 defeat to Polokwane City on Saturday.

The Black Stars first choice made his long awaited competitive start for the Bucs since joining the club at the beginning of the season.

It was however not the dream debut the 28-year-old had wished for as his side went down 1-0 at Polokwane City.

The scored by Sipho Jembule in the 27th minute was as a result of miscommunication between Dauda and his defender Thabo Matlaba as he came out rushing for the ball which eventually ended up in his net.

The ex AshantiGold shot-stopper however lost his nerves as the game wore on as he came up with some spectacular saves to keep his side in the game.

Pirates, playing under new coach Vladimir Vermezovic failed to convert chances created to ultimately lose the game.

Dauda’s good showing on his competitive debut will however be a major positive drawn from the defeat.

The Black Stars goalkeeper has had to play second fiddle to Senzo Meyiwa since arriving last year but could be set to be the new no.1 if his performance on Saturday was good enough to catch the eye of coach Verzemovic.

There was miscommunication between him and a defender resulting in a goal, yet Ghanasoccernet claims Dauda had a good show. Oh Kwarasey what have you done to ghanasoccernet and the goalkeeping coach. I wished I had money to also pay bribes for Kwarasey bcos I want to see him in the post for Ghana

oh brother, thats the one thing i hate about dauda. he comes out on EVERY aerial ball, but fails to get a finger on it, leaving an empty net behind him. i almost lost my composure during the egypt game when he kept doing that….

someone needs to tell him that he’s short, and should play to his advantage. even an uneducated person know this. aaaaaaahh.

hahaha, who wrote this article? the contradiction in that statement could not have been avoided by a baby… GSN is fueling the hate for dauda by attempting to swing everything in his favor. fools. dauda will not be in brazil.

  7. zikalanga says:

Thank you spellbound. Truth be told, this attitude of poor reportage and editing by GSN has been going on ad nauseam! I’m even tired of the sometimes childish, hurried, irresponsible and contradictory stories.

  9. zikalanga says:

Its sad we have leaders who only think about them and thier family first. .choping Ghana money…Building Houses and shipping in all the latest Cars ..Opening American bank accounts…..God de watch una…

  11. Papadinho says:

Stupid ass dudes!!!! God will punish all the stupid corrupted peeps backing dauda and yet they Kwarasey is untouchable. If AA make a mistake and take Dauda to brazil, hhmm we will be dead. 14. johnny says:

Without insults or speculations, here are the undisputed facts: Dauda is very, I mean really, bad dealing with aerial balls. He is bad at blocking with his foot. He can’t stop penalties. In a nutshell, he would be a disaster at the World Cup.

Kwarasey is also not very convincing dealing with aerial balls and blocking with his feet.

In all there departments Adams is the best goalkeeper.

Please, Akwasi Appiah, let Adams face Montenegro so we can all see for ourselves.

  15. zikalanga says:
