Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda was in action for South African side Orlando Pirates when they held Iran's World Cup team to a 3-3 draw in a friendly this week.

The Black Stars shot-stopper got some rare playing time to boost his World Cup chance in the friendly in South Africa on Wednesday.

The match was played behind closed doors so it is uncertain if the Ghana goalkeeper conceded all the goal as there were two other keepers in action from the South African side in the friendly.

Iran, who are coached by former Bafana Bafana coach, Carlos Queiroz, are in a training camp in South Africa to prepare for the World Cup in Brazil.

“The coach utilised most of the players that have not got any game time of late in this game against Iran. The likes of Ndumiso Mabena, Joseph Molangoane, Jacky Motshegwa, Lennox Bacela and Kermit Erasmus, all got game.

"Goalkeepers, Brighton Mhlongo and Fatau Dauda also got runs as well,” Pirates PRO, Mickey Modisane said.

Meanwhile, Iran handed Moroka Swallows a 5-0 drubbing in another friendly on Tuesday.

Queiroz’s team will now play Mozambique before heading for Australia to hold another training camp on May 12.

Pirates will take on Platinum Stars at Orlando Stadium on Saturday afternoon at 15h00
