Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda admits to his mistake during Orlando Pirates’ shock 1-0 defeat to Mpumalanga Black Aces in the South African top flight game on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old was handed a rare start due to the suspension of regular Senzo Meyiwa.

Dauda is yet to taste a win in post for the Bucs since his arrival at the beginning of the season.

The former AshantiGold shot-stopper has featured in two previous competitive matches for the South African giants but is yet to be on the winning side.

Dauda conceded a cheeky goal late in the game which eventually proved to be the winner.

The Black Stars goalkeeper has put up his hand to admit to the collective mistake of his team of defending the free kick that saw him concede the winner.

“We made a mistake on the wall – as a goalkeeper you put up a solid wall to protect the goal,” he said.

“The shot was low and the guys on the wall jumped, which is normal sometimes, but it was difficult for me to go back and save the ball.

“Football is like this. We have to make fewer mistakes in the future."
