Black Stars now 31st best on Fifa world rankings

By Ameenu Shardow

Ghana appreciated by just one place on the latest Fifa/Coca Cola rankings for the month of September.

The Black Stars are now ranked 31st best in the world rankings released on Wednesday.

The four-time African champions however lost their second best ranking on the African continent to Algeria.

Ghana gathered only seven points in the month under review to bring their total haul to 714.

The Black Stars will however get the chance to improve on their positioning when they host Malawi in the first leg of the final 2013 Nations Cup qualifier on Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The position could be further improved if Ghana beats Liberia in an international friendly three days after the Malawi qualifier in Monrovia.

World Champions Spain and Cote D’Ivoire remain no.1 in the World and Africa rankings respectively.

  2. kwame-blz says:

fu*ck fifa and their fake ranking, how can england be rank top five as always and cant even beat Ghana with their A team. Its Africa and chop chop CAF president sits and countries in Africa always get drag down ranking like, best in the continent and not best for fifa top 10 like always no matter the countries they have beaten. Its either a Brazilian or European in charge and always find a way to rank south american and european teams only in top ten.

  3. Ghanaians are Dogs says:

Now you can see bcos more damage is coming. When other countries were complaining, you were happy with Fake Fifa Rankings. How can for sure England be ranked so highly when they fail to perform at world stage, beating the likes of Brazil and Argentina?

  4. Ausmac says:

U r still feelng th heat,u laughed at zambians wen thy complaind abt th fuckng fifa rankings. Are thy oky wit u ghanaians? Cme nxt mnth u wil slip to position 12 in Africa. Its nt fifa rankngs whch plays footbal.. Hw cn surely england be on top 5?

  5. Better Ghana says:

Ghana has topped Africa several times, so this is nothing. We know what to do to get there again.
Zambians and Malawi should worry about their rankings not Ghana. The entire universe knows about Ghana football, but you can’t say the same about Zambia the so called Africa Champions recently beaten by Sudan, Korea and Malawi.

  6. zambian says:

@better Ghana wen did ever top the rankings ever.ask bout zambia n i will tel u.
