The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is working hard to find an opponent for the Black Stars for next month to boost the sides preparation before they face Zambia in their crucial World Cup qualifier in September.

The GFA is desperately seeking an opponent to ensure that coach Kwesi Appiah gets assesses his players before they take on the Chipolopolo in Kumasi on 6 September in their decisive World Cup qualifier.

The next FIFA free date for international friendlies is August 13-14, but the GFA has yet to land an opponent with barely four weeks to the said date.

A friendly game option serve as the best  form of preparations for the Stars ahead of the ultimate 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zambia on September 6, in Kumasi.

Several attempts to land an opponent for the Black Stars in August have proven difficult but the GFA is not relenting in lining up a friendly to boost the side's preparation.

Despite the hurdles, Ibrahim Sannie Daara, Communications Director of the GFA told GNA Sports his outfit is working feverishly in that regard.

“We are in talks with some teams and are hoping to finalize terms very soon," Sannie Daara told the GNA.

"It will be premature to come up with any name once discussions are ongoing. I’m very sure that the Black Stars will get busy on that day,” he assured.

The Stars need at least a point to book their place at the final stage of the continental qualifiers for next year’s Mundial.
