Ghana Football Association vice president Jordan Anagbla fears minnows Botswana could prove the most difficult side in the Group D of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Black Stars were handed a tricky Group that comprised of Guinea, Mali and the Zebras.

Ghana play Botswana in their opening match on 24 January at the Stade de Franceville.

Anagla believes the debutants can shock the four-time continental champions at the finals to be co-hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

“People have shared their views on the group. But I think Botswana will be the side that we should really watch out” Anagbla said

“There are no novices in the game now and having seen them qualify from a difficult group, trust me they will be tough opponents for us”

“In as much we must take all the teams in the group seriously, they will want to go all out and cause an upset against us.

"But I believe we know the terrain and will need to tackle each game with seriousness."

Ghana, ranked third on the continent, are regarded as the overwhelming favourites to clinch their fifth title in 29 years.

Giants Egypt, Cameroon, Nigeria and South Africa failed to qualify.
