Posted On Thursday, 14th February 2013

The Ghana FA is expected to announce its preliminary findings into why the country was unimpressive in their participation in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations on Friday.

The Ghana FA is expected to announce its preliminary findings into why the country was unimpressive in their participation in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations on Friday.

The GFA has announced that it will address a press conference at 2:30pm local time in Accra after it Executive Committee meets to examine the various reports from the tournament.

Friday’s Executive Committee meeting will examine coach Kwesi Appiah’s technical report which will be key to the findings of the failure.

The management report, which will also state how the team was oiled for the tournament, will also be perused by the highest decision making body of the GFA.

Other reports from the medical, media and security will all be examined by memebers of the Executive Committee before preliminary finding are announced to the public.

“The team’s entire operations during the tournament from technical, management, medical, media and security will be examined by the Ex.Co,” a statement from the GFA read.

It is expected that the report will be forwarded to government to examine before the final report on how Ghana’s national team should avoid such unimpressive showings in future tournaments.

Ghana’s senior men’s national team, the Black Stars finished fourth at the recently ended competition hosted by South Africa.

Reports reports reports. What for? Just to confuse us with empty phrases, the BS lost because of tactical indiscipline etc and we dont even know what that realy means. We all saw what happened. The Coach is not good. period. on top of that he has a phobia for players who are in form or stars because he cant control them. If we retain this poor coach we will not qualify for the world cup. mark my words. sometimes i pity the coach.

Sack that man, Kwasi Appiah now!! He was the cause of our failure period.

  5. BX, NYC says:

please SACK the clueless coach… When teams aren’t doing well or there’s a mismanagement of STAR players, the first person out the door is the freaking coach… Ghana FA, please learn from the best teams in the world..

  6. Al says:

what debacle?..we lost in the semi-final on penalties its not as if we failed to make it through the group stages…Some Ghanaians are just ungrateful..we’ve had 4 coaches in 5 years…meaning no stability what so ever. every time a coach gets going he either leaves or we give him the boot. every one is coming down on appiah and praising Milo but it seems that Ghanaians forgot how much we struggled for 2 years under Milo before we got to the form we got to in 2010. We were mediocre under Duya for 2 year as well and look how we performed in the 2006 WC. Had any of those coaches from the past stayed i bet you we would have an AFCON cup by now. Ghanaians can be so naive sometimes its completely beyond me. Evryone wants a fix now but are not willing to suffer through the struggle. Italy struggled for 2 years under Prandelli and they made it all the way to the final of the 2012 Euro. for our sake i hope they keep Appiah so he can continue because he is doing so much better in his first 9 months than Goran or Milo or Duya who you all praise had ever done in their first 9 months in charge. And if we fire him i guarantee you that we wont qualify for the WC and some way some how if we do, it’ll be an abysmal showing.

you not Ghanaian, you have been paid by an agent to come talk crap on the forum

      • Al says:

I’ve only spent a small amount of my life in Ghana but i want success for the black stars just as much as the next guy…but truth be told Ghanaians don’t know how to look atthings objectively…they’re ALWAYS driven by emotion and that causes us to always make irrational decisions and firing Appiah would be a bad decision…if he stays watch this space b.c the team will definitely without a shadow of a doubt come good

  7. Chu says:

Kwasi Nyantekyi is the one that needs the boot. He is using his intelligence to flip out of trouble. He is part to blame if the team did a bad job. Because someone would chop the money of a blacstr committee chairman, he greedily p
ut himself in that position. The blackstars are shit

  8. benyvv says:

SACK NYANTAKYI,AKWASI APPIAH AND THOSE BUNCH OF CLUELESS IDIOTS.GIVE THE GFA PRESIDENT TO TONY BAFFOE AND SURROUND THE GFA BOARD WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE INTO FOOTBALL,NOT LAWYERS.

  9. gentle john says:

All we need is for you to sack that incompetent Kwesi Appiah, this press conference is unnecessary, anyone who want GFA to maintain Kwesi Appiah is enemy to the Black Stars and want Black Stars to go back to the days when we were not qualifying for World Cup,this is not a matter of foreign or local coach,we need a good coach for the Black Stars,we have to go back for Milo if we really want to qualify and do well at the World Cup.

    • Quincy Owusu Abeyie says:

so that Milo will play the Virtus international players. Its that what you want. The problem is not about the coach alone, its about the GFA themselves. They do not want to give the team to someone who can not be forced to field their players. If you bring Milo back, its like replacing Mahama with Rawlings

  10. FIANU ZIGGY says:

A PROFETIONAL COACH CAN’T USE A DEFENDER TO PLAY FIRST PENALTY,SHAME TO KWESI APPIAH.

  11. mojahadine says:

Are you kidding me that the GFA will actually present any meaningful report to the government? And that report is supposed to do what? not a damn thing. The problem with this GFA is that it thinks Ghanaians are stupid, and they will buy into this nonsensical notion of theirs that some mention of thorough investigation is going be seen by the public as a way to improve the Black Stars. Its all a sham.

Black Stars problems are all too glaring for everyone to see. First, is the makeup of the GFA itself and secondly, the not so smart Black Star coach. The GFA, Nyantakyi and his gang of blood suckers consistently interfere with the selection process, dictating and insisting the coach field certain players like Asamoah Gyan while knowing well that his skills have diminished considerably due to his money grabbing move to a D-league in UAE. They act as if there are no other strikers in Ghana but Asamoah Gyan who consistently keep breaking the hearts of Ghanaians by not scoring penalties, converting clear chances to goals coupled with his inability to create his own goals.

Then the question of making Akwesi Appiah the head coach of the National team, the Black Stars when we have Sillas Tetteh and Kuuku Dadzie available to make the National team an envy of Africa. Rather giving the job to Akwesi Appiah with no experience at international level, highly incompetent, and easily manipulated or pushed around. This behavior of the GFA is uncalled for, stupid, unprofessional and morally reprehensible. This has to stop because it is killing us. The Nigerians have won 3 AFCON to ours of 4. Very soon they will catch up to us and they will rob it in our face.

Now come the world cup. With this Akwesi Appiah, it will be the first time in 12years that we may not qualify for that tournament. Most African countries are catching up to us. Are you kidding me that we couldn’t even beat Burkina Faso, Mali or DR Congo? This hurt.

  12. Rosky says:

Foolish, stupid n nonsensical nyantakyi, stupid saani darra, technically n tactically bankrupt, n corrupt kwesi appiah shud be sacked or else ghana will never qualify for de world cup bet me

  13. Yankeeman says:

Ghanaians are not interested in any report from this bunch of criminals, all we are waiting for is for them to resign from their post tomorrow enough is enough! It really baffles me what people like inept and incompitent coach Akwesi Appiah is hanging on unto the job for what reason any sensible person would have reason by now but Akwesi appiah is hanging unto the job becos of promise by chief criminal Nyantakyie but it wont work.
