Ghana FA to announce coach Appiah’s backroom staff next week

Posted On Friday, 27th April 2012

Asante Kotoko coah Konadu is tipped for the Black Stars assistant role

The Ghana FA will reveal the identity of the assistant Black Stars coach by next week.

The job became vacant when Akwasi Appiah made the step up  to become the substantive coach of the side last month.

It is widely reported that Appiah has put forward the name of Asante Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu as his preferred choice to assist him in taking the Black Stars forward.

But the ex Ghana striker’s existing contract with the Ghanaian giants is proving hard to go by especially with the club’s resolve to hold onto their man.

Behind the scenes negotiations are thus said to be ongoing and Ghana FA boss Kwasi Nyantakyi says all deliberations will end by next week for the appointment to be confirmed.

“There are a number of people we are considering for the post and yes Maxwell Konadu is one of them,” he told Kumasi-based Kessben FM.

“We are still at the deliberative stage but we are looking to make the announcement by next week.”

This means Akwasi Appiah will have just about a month to hit a harmonious chord with his number two needed to delver victory for Ghana when the Black Stars take on Lesotho and Zambia in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers in June.

I think gfa should be careful what they wish for because no kumasi coach ever lead the Mighty Black Stars to win any cup.

look let us go for the balance diet here ok…ya, is all good we went in for the obvious and convenient choice, and im not complaining at all , bcos i do believe appiah can pull it off…

but i do believe in all sincerity that we do need someone who the players can be able to, sub-conciously…besides the , “familirity business” …in the back of their heads, yeah appiah was a player they like him i mean most of em….but they need someone that they will be able to relate to, who played in europe , the champions league, who actually had a job as a coach and a tech-man in one of europes top 5 leagues.

do a lil research and you will be able to come out with an ANSWER.

im not going to to give you a name, hint:he,s a GHANAIAN IMAGING THAT HUH?LOL
