Ghana FA has started interviewing Swiss coach Michel Pont for the vacant coaching

Ghana started interviewing Swiss coach Michel Pont for the vacant coaching position in Accra on Friday after being named in the five-man shortlist for the job.

The former Switzerland coach arrived in Ghana on Wednesday night and spent the yesterday rehearsing his interview for the job.

He was spotted at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on Friday preparing to go into the interview with Ghana FA officials tasked with interviewing the coaches.

He is the only coach to be interviewed by the GFA officials on Friday with two scheduled for Saturday.

"Michel Pont will be interviewed today while Spaniard Juan Ignacio Jimenez and Avram Grant will be interviewed on Saturday," Ghana FA spokesman Ibrahim Sannie Daara told Fox FM in Kumasi.

Pont is among three coaches expected to be interviewed for the job even though five were shortlisted.

Spaniard Juan Ignacio Jimenez and Avram Grant are appearing on Saturday.

The ex-Chelsea man has the highest profile of the three currently in the west African country, but Michel Pont, immediate past assistant coach for Switzerland at the 2014 World Cup believes his CV is great for the job.

Also expected in Ghana now is Juan Ignacio Martinez, formerly the coach of Rayo Vallecano.
