The Ghana FA's review panel has slapped Referee E.R. Biney with a four-match ban for his errors during Kotoko's defeat to Heart of Lions last month.

The Porcupine Warriors reported the referee to the GFA's match review panel for denying the Kumasi-based giants two penalty appeals during the league game in Kumasi.

Insiders says after the match review panel watched the match they found out that Kotoko had legitimate concerns which resulted in the decision to slap Biney with the ban.

Biney has already vowed never officiate a match involving Kotoko after irate fans attacked him during the game claiming he cheated them.

Biney was lucky to have received few slaps after angry fans charged on him during the side’s 1-0 defeat at home to Heart of Lions.

Fans of the defending League champions were incensed with the performance of the centre referee after he awarded a penalty to the visiting team-  a decision which resulted in the only goal of the match.

The referee needed police escort to escape the wrath of the supporters as he left the venue trembling with fear.

He has vowed never to officiate games involving the Porcupine Warriors alleging team manager Godwin Ablordey and chief supporter Ali Maradona instigated the assault.
