Ghana FA rubbishes CHAN squad reports

The Ghana Federation has dismissed reports that coach Kwesi Appiah has released a squad for the African Nations Championships (CHAN) qualifiers.

It had been claimed by a Ghanaian portal that the newly appointed boss had released a list of 25 players to begin preparations ahead of the 2014 qualifiers.

But the Ghana Federation has issued a statement to dismiss the reports.

“The Ghana Football Association’s attention has been drawn to media reports on Monday, 30th April, 2012 claiming that Black Stars coach James Kwesi Appiah has released a squad for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers,” the statement read.

“The GFA wishes to inform the media and the public that coach Appiah has not released a squad for the CHAN qualifiers.

“The GFA wishes to assure the media that squad announcements from the coaches of the national teams will come directly from the GFA’s Communications Division,”
