Ghana FA in limbo over 2012 Afcon squad

Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic

The Ghana FA would have to wait until next week before knowing which players have been selected by Coach Goran Stevanovic for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

The association will thus have few days to attempt editing the highly anticipated list before it is made public on December 15.

Stevanovic is expected back in Ghana somewhere next week to present his 23-man squad to the Ghana FA for further deliberations before being announced at a Press Conference in Accra.

“We for now don’t know the composition of the Black Stars list,” Ghana FA boss Kwasi Nyantakyi told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“The coach is expected in town next week to present the list before the announcement is made.”

A lot of expectations have characterized this all important Press Conference where the Serbian trainer will defend his call-ups for next year’s finals in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

The Black Stars go into the biennial showpiece as overwhelming favourites to end a 30-year wait of an African crown alongside Ivory Coast following the absence of traditional heavyweights; Egypt, Cameroon and Nigeria.

I want the sports presenters to leave the coach alone to do his job. There are SOME sports presenters who have started lobbying for their favorites players so that they can go and beg for arms when they’re selected into the team, even some call the players to tell them that we’re hyping you so don’t forget me when u’re called into the team . Twiaaa wht a stomach sports presenters we have in Ghana.

They might as well have a provisional roster
and make cuts after the training camp.

How is the FA in limbo? Must ghsoccernet always write misleading headlines to catch attention? This is very annoying! Kmt.

Ghana are ‘overwhelming’ favourites? Wow. And Ivory Coast and Senegal are what?!
