The Ghana FA expects to pay Kwesi Appiah a compensation package up to the tune of not more than $150,000 for mutual departure as coach of the Black Stars, the association’s spokesman Ibrahim Sannie Daara has confirmed.

With the coaching earning about $35,000 monthly salary it is expected that Appiah would be paid three months of his salary which will come up to about $105,000.

The 54-year-old parted ways with the Black Stars in a move the Ghana FA has described as mutual.

Reports are rife that the GFA must now cough up in excess of $800,000 as the amount to be accrued to Appiah for the remaining duration of his two-year contract before completely dispensing off his services.

But the Ghana FA spokesman Ibrahim Sannie Daara told Joy FM’s news analysis show, News File on Saturday his outfit expects to pay off Appiah in the region of $100,000 as payment of three months salary as stipulated in the contract.

"In lieu of the termination as per the contract, we expect to pay Kwesi Appiah his three months salary," Sannie Daara said on Joy FM's News File programme.

"We expect it to be between $100,000 to $150,00 based on the contract we have with him.

"But then we have said that our lawyers will be meeting with Kwesi Appiah's lawyers next week to reach an agreement."

Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi finally communicated the decision to dispense of the services of the Black Stars coach by the Executive Committee to Kwesi Appiah in a meeting held on Friday morning.

The news of Appiah's sacking had however been trending less than 24 hours after leading the Black Stars to a vital 3-2 win over Togo in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

The ex Asante Kotoko star is however yet to be officially written to over the termination of his contract.
