The Ghana FA have confirmed the appointment of ‘Gerald’ as an additional video analyst for the Black Stars team for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

Gerald has been seen issuing instructions in the physical exercises of the Black Stars in their non-residential preparations for this year’s tournament.

His presence around the team raised a lot of questions as to his role in the Black Stars set up.

The GFA had earlier announced the appointment of Jamie Lawrence as the team’s physical trainer for the 2015 AFCON to be staged in Equatorial Guinea.

The association’s Vice President Fred Crentsil on Friday confirmed the appointment of Gerald at a ceremony to officially introduce Avram Grant as the new head coach of the Black Stars to UniBank.

“I want to use this opportunity to announce to you the appointment of Gerald as a video analyst for the Black Stars for the 2015 AFCON,” he said.

“We have also appointed Jamie Lawrence as the team’s physical trainer.

“This tells you we are getting the right people on board for the African Cup.”

Gerald will be complementing the efforts of substantive video analyst of the Black Stars Michael Okyere during the 2015 AFCON.
