Ghana FA to concentrate on programmes to help the development of disqualified U17 squad
Fred Crentsil says the team will continue with developmental activities

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) says it will organise matches and training camps for the U17 disqualified from taking part at the Niger 2015 Africa Under-17 Championship to help their development and progress into next year's U20 squad.

The Black Starlets squad will play matches at home and tournaments abroad to help in their development as they will form the core of the next U20 squad.

GFA has said it will not appeal against the decision of CAF's Appeal Board to disqualify the Black Starlets from the tournament insisting they want to continue to develop the players.

Ghana had the option to pursue the appeal of the ruling within 10 days at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) but GFA vice president Fred Crentsil says they want to help to continue to develop the players.

"We will organise matches locally and abroad for the team to ensure their development continues. We have put these players together through many months of rigorous training. We cant let them go waste." Crentsil who was the chairman of the Ghana U17 management team said.

The decision by the GFA was taken at an Executive Committee meeting on Thursday and announced at a press conference later in the day.

CAF disqualified Ghana was due to the fielding of an overage player Isaac Twum during an Africa Under-17 Championship qualifier against Cameroon.
