Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi has confirmed his religious faith as a Muslim after he took many by surprise when he swore by the Holy Quran in his debut appearance before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry.
Nyantakyi rose to swear by the Holy Quran when he was asked to choose the option of either swearing by the Holy Bible â⬓ used by Christians - and the Cross â⬓ used by Catholics.
The GFA bossââ¬â¢ swearing in took many by surprise as he is not known to be a Muslim.
But subsequent information gathered by GHANAxoccernet.com revealed he has been a Muslim since he was nine, and has been an active in all practice and conventions with Islam â⬓ including observing fast.
But the GFA boss was required to confirm this before the 2014 World Cup Commission hearing on Wednesday.
Legal counsel for the Kwesi Nyantakyi, Thaddeus Sory reluctantly confirmed his clientââ¬â¢s religious faith as a Muslim.
ââ¬ÅIt is obvious that by swearing on the Quran, he is a Muslim,â⬠Sory told the Commission.
This revelation confirms the GFA Presidentââ¬â¢s faith as a Muslim and puts to rest all doubts following his surprise swearing in with the Holy Quran in his maiden appearance on Tuesday.
