Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi believes the Black Stars were ââ¬Ëunreasonableââ¬â¢ in their demand for a $100,000 payment as appearance fee for the 2014 World Cup.
The state had agreed at the cabinet level to pay each player $82,500 who made it to Ghanaââ¬â¢s final 23-man squad for the tournament staged in Brazil.
The amount represented a 10 percent increment on what was paid at the last World Cup four-years ago in South Africa.
The Black Stars players however rejected this offer â⬓ insisting they be paid $100,000 despite several attempts to convince them to take the $82,500 offered by the state.
Each Black Stars players eventually received $100,000 after several discussions which is believed to have played a role in Ghanaââ¬â¢s first round exit at the 2014 World Cup.
But GFA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi in giving evidence before the 2014 World Cup Commission says the demands of the players were ââ¬Ëunreasonableââ¬â¢.
ââ¬ÅIn the circumstance, we were very frustrated and at that time I thought the players were being unreasonable,â⬠Nyantakyi said.
ââ¬ÅWhen we met the players in Holland â⬓ by that time the budget had already been approved â⬓ to announce to them the remuneration package, the players rejected the $82,500 offer.
ââ¬ÅThe Minister then explained to the players that this was a decision by cabinet and that he couldnââ¬â¢t change it.ââ¬
