Ghana duo Boakye-Yiadom and Cofie miss out on Seria A promotion

Isaac Cofie and Richmond Boakye-Yiadom

Ghana youth pair Richmond Boakye-Yiadom and Isaac Cofie missed out on promotion to the Italian Serie A with Sassuolo losing to Sampdoria.

Sassuolo failed to the final of the promotional play-offs after losing 3-2 on aggregate to Sampdoria.

Boakye-Yiadom featured in the first leg which ended one-all stalemate while Cofie warmed the bench.

However the Genoa pair were all involved in Saturday’s 2-1 loss at the Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris.

Boakye and Cofie are expected to revert to Genoa as their loan deals expire at the end of the season.
