Ghana duo Andre and Jordan Ayew will be working under a new manager at Olympique Marseille following the dismissal of Elie Baup.

Baup becomes the latest coaching casualty in Europe haven presided over Marseille’s incredible slump both Ligue 1 and in the Champions League.

Les Phoceens are still without a point after five games in the Champions League and have also dropped to 5th in Ligue despite playing a game more than their nearest competitors.

Recent poor results however proved too much for the club to stomach – leading to the sack of Elie Baup who only took over last year.

Marseille President Vincent Labrune admits it was a difficult decision to make in firing Baup.

“It was my hardest decision as club president,” Labrune told the club’s website.

Marseille have lost their last two games in the French top flight – causing them further setbacks in their unlikely bid to win the domestic title.

Sporting director Jose Anigo has been put in temporal charge of the team until a substantive replacement is found.
