Razak Nuhu extends Man City contract
Ghana defender Razak Nuhu has signed a three-year contract extension with English giants Manchester City, MTNFootball.com can exclusively reveal.
The 21-year-old joined the Citizens in February 2011 from the Right to Dream Academy in Ghana.
He was however immediately loaned out to Norwegian club Stromsgodset to aid his development as a budding star.
Nuhu after making his professional debut has gone on to play 35 games in the Norwegian top flight with a goal to his name.
His sterling performance in Norway earned him his first call up to the Ghana national team where he made his Black Stars debut in an international friendly match against China last August.
Nuhu has now signed a three-year extension to his contract which guarantees his stay with the English champions until 2016.
The left-back could return to Man City to fight for a regular first team place when his current loan deal at Stromsgodset expires at the end of the season.

Are there a lot of Soccer academy in Ghana? No wonder you guys have quality players. What does it take to create an academy? Ideas guys. While iam over seas maybe I can create one in Zambia when I return. Good luck to you in the rest of the AFCON.
……And we are struggling at the left back position? hhhmmmmmmmm!!!
Akwasi Appiah should stop taking bribe and select the right type of players.Why was this guy not selected?
@cool, for the fact he signed for the Citizens doesnt mean he can get a call up. maybe he needs a bit of maturity and experience.
@Zambia soccerman, u showed that we can still have people comment on this site with brains. just for your info its nt necessarily the academies that give us all the great players. its the passion for soccer as a nation. almost every man in Ghana started playing soccer at age just when he could kick a ball.
we have the dominance in midfield cos we play a type of doccer that really produces midfielders.
to God be the glory.!!!!
@Saxcee, thanks for the comment. I remember when I was growing up back home in Zambia, my parents were all about me going to school. We only played soccer by sneaking in on our way to school. Soccer was like for failure and I think that was a mistake by our parents…fast forward that come to USA and you see how parents here put their kids in different sport as it helps to get scholarship to go to college. My question is DO GHANA people allow and support their kids to play soccer/football without telling them go to school only? As a Zambian we love Ghanasoccer to be honest..forgot the trash talk, but man you guys are just sending all these players to Europe. I would be surprised if Ghana does not have the highest number of pros overseas.
@Zambia Soccerman
In Ghana schools have their own competition for example, let say we are living in Accra. All the schools in Accra will come with their best players (selection) Both youth and senior. So we have senior competition and youth competition is school. Every Friday after school, is game time for each school. Either you play out or home. Is very nice to see how kids in Ghana play school competition and the crowd is always amazing. It’s just overwhelming to see the support from the parents. Because in Ghana is a kid is very good in football, the kid can earn himself scholarship end money from the school. School competition is very popular in Ghana. And after school on Saturday we have also Area competition. Is one town and every district in the town comes with their selection. And before you can play the competition you have to pay money to join. For example every district pay 50$ and at the end of the day, the winner of the competition takes all the money. Football is just the number one sport all over Ghana
Good stuff Papadinho, thanks for the information, Wished it was like that in Zambia. People tell me that there is a lot of attension and passion in the Zambian football, but it does not sound like what you are telling me. Parents have to be involved and i dont think Zambia offers any scholarship for football. Wow good for you guys.
@Zambia Soccerman
Forgot to tell you this, In school i we used to play with oranges when we have no ball. No joke. That’s how crazy Ghanaian kids are when it comes to football
@Zambia Soccernet
You can start by starting it in your own town by buying the kids some football shoes and kit. Give every district different colour of kit and start a competition in your town by putting money on it. It will inspire other people to do it too in their own town or village.
Cool thanks Papadinho
Hope things work out for you and I hope God picks the right people to back you up with this dream. Is always not easy as a beginner but one you must know is, if you’re a fighter then you will surely get there. Please pick serious kids and not kids that will waste your time. You need to pick out a coach for the kids first, somebody around 20. I hope you guys have football fields, cause in Ghana we have it all over and ever school got their own pitch. But please be seriouse about this and God will do the rest.
God bless both Ghana and Zambia
