Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah returned to his French club Evian on Saturday morning after his extended summer holidays.

The centre-back joined his team-mates in their pre-season preparation two weeks late because of his participation in the World Cup.

His received a two-week extension on his holidays because he could rest in the summer as he was with the Ghana team at the tournament in Brazil.

This means he could not get the rest needed to start the pre-season training resulting in the decision to extend his holidays.

Mensah says he is delighted to return to Evian after a personally successful World Cup with light training scheduled for him on Saturday.

“Back to work! Can you see the smile on my face? Hehe! Light jogging this morning. Have a good weekend guys,” Mensah tweeted on Saturday morning.

Rumours are rife that he could leave Evian because of his excellent showing at the World Cup.

Excellent showing my balls..kwasi appiah need to start giving the local defenders some chance because these self acclaimed professionals are not taking us no where to be frank

Is about that time, we find a very tall central defenders to beef up our team! Both Jonathan and boye are tall but not good in air!

We need ainooson and edusie in this team and we should invite them for our next friendly match! Ainooson, edusei, aka and sumaila can help us a lot becasue these fellas play with passion and they are fearless! Sumaila is also very powerful in the air just as aka!

We should forget about john boye and Jonathan mensah becasue they have shown us that they can’t improved! With vorsah coming back in the next AFCON, these guys can draw inspiration from him!

We need strong decent central defenders now than ever! The two johns plays with no ambition and is clear they don’t have want any silverware!

Agree, we indeed need Ainooson and Edusei but I wonder if Dr Appiah won’t play them as strikers. I wonder what we can achieve under him. I would prefer Maxwell Konadu any day as a Coach but with Dr Akwasi Appiah I’m not sure if he will take us far in any tournament.

Our players are very hungry for world cup, having tasted it a number of times. If you give this team to anybody at all they will still qualify. Trust me, they did not qualify for the world cup due to any ingenuity on the part of Dr Appiah.

The earlier we do something about this Coach and save ourselves from more embarrassment the better.
