Ghana defender John Paintsil is meeting officials of South African side Polokwane City in Johannesburg on Monday afternoon to talks over a possible deal for the right-back.
The 32-year-old, who can play in central defence or midfield, was set to join South African second tier side Santos.
But apparently the two parties couldn’t agree terms and City are now in the picture to sign the defender to boost their squad.
“We are meeting him today in Jo’burg,” City spokesperson Patrick Baloyi tells KickOff.com.
Paintsil’s capture will be a huge boost for the newly-promoted struggling side as they will hugely benefit from his experience and leadership qualities.
He played for English side West Ham, Fulham and Leicester City after a sojourn in Israel.
The right-back has played in two World Cup and he is seeking the perfect opportunity to relaunch his career.
